basically looking at the fastest wireless modem I can get. I spoke to you about this some time ago.

asif we dont have a computer section here :(

Well, ideally you'd want to go for something like an Aruba Controller and Access Point :buba:

Super fast and reliable with 48 hour replacement for faulty access points but the controller is worth more than some of the cars on here, lol. I had an :oohwoah: moment when I saw the price for a fully optioned HP 5406 series chasis recently. Damn corporate networking is expensive, haha.

On a serious note, there's 5 wireless networking standards, 'a', 'b', 'g', 'n' and most recently 'ac'. Basically each is faster than the last. You're probably familar with the first three, practically everything supports them for years and most things now support 'n' as well. If you want to get one with 'ac' to future proof, you'll pay a premium for it; it's only new and I can't think of a popular laptop/phone/anything off the top of my head that uses it yet. With technology, you basically get what you pay for. Spend $100 and you can't complain if it breaks in 12 months, but at the same time $1000 is overkill (or several tens of thousands if you wanted the Aruba and HP, hehe).

This page is a year old, so some of the models have been superseded but it's a good guide to start researching with and has the consumer in mind rather than 'tech heads' who want performance, performance, performance.

2 good brands that I can't fault are Billion and TP-Link. TP-Link use the same broadcom chip as Billion do, and they are cheaper. Usually get some really good reviews too.

Morning all

I hopped on a plane to melbourne yesterday, had a few beers in the city, 2256 dropped me back at the motel. I must have been wasted because I am sure that he has left me somewhere in eastern asia.
