Alright then..

So since I already know what a piston ring is and what it does..

What's the best material to make it out of and why?

Wikipedia says iron.. Helpful like a third nipple..

Steel is an iron alloy.. Is it grey cast? Is it ductile?

Like most things, everyone has their own idea as to what is better - the ring material will depend on the block material too...

Atomic use something called Nitro-caburised material...I have no idea what that is but they've done 60,000k's in my car....

Yeh it is. I only have to think about it once every three years. Will be getting it replaced early next year.
