Do you stick build or use prefabs shy?

all stick. we did a random job with my old boss, just a cashie n it was prefab. farkin terrible mate. entrance hallway was about 6m then opened into the kitchen/living room. on that left corner as it went to living room the wall stuck in 150mm. slab was fine n all was right, but theyre just so unpredictable. stick frames for quality :)

although we are starting work with metricon soon *cringes* - dont have the best name for good frames from their usual chippies lol. and their doubles are prefab, singles are stick.

yeh atm im earning $600 p/wk and ill probably go to $25p/hr wen qualified. all different though as its an agreement between worker and boss. cant wait, then I get to order the ute :locomotive:

ahh good stuff, I detail a heap of metricon prefabs for the country (they prefab everything outside metro areas)...detailing one now actually! Prefabs just depend on the manufacturer, ours a fairly high quality but we probably shoot ourselves in the foot with the cost of our labour, keeps the customer happy though.

I do a bit of this and that work for AV Jennings.

but wow 600 p/w for a fourth year is pretty darn good shy. nothing to cringe at.

its funny how I got to different houses by differend big name builders and they all bag each others work. love it.

I think tra1ner means he draws up/designs on computer??? the prefab frames??

yes mate, pays alright. I manage a truss and frame plant and design (detail) prefab wallframes and roof trusses. Your not wrong ford freak, I currently do work for Simonds, Metricon, New Dimension, GJ Gardner, Dennis Family, etc. none of them seem to like each other!

ah yeh, house im in was done by them 27yrs ago! lol certainly stood the test of time

yeh I guess its how uve been taught but I honestly cant see anything dodgey about our work. not just cos I work for my boss n only been taught the one way, n not to sound big headed but ive never come across a frame as good as ours. seen pleeeenty of dodgey as sh*t stuff though dont worry. how the f*ck it passes inspection is beyond me. cant say we work on the best slabs but that's the sh*t c*nt concretor..hopefully better in metricon lol. look there could be some ace builders for metricon but wat ive come across has been below average..

oh that's right, forgot that one lol. wats the name of the company?

concrete won't be better with metricon, its all about price now mate. The prefabs you get in the city will generally be lower quality as it is highly price focused. If you get your system going you can make good money working for Metricon but a lot of guys struggle and that's why they end up with average chippy's.

I work for Dahlsens Building Centres, have worked around the state with them but in Wonthaggi now.

ah I see. our work for henley we try n stay in geelong, if not we go to point cook. n if we cant get work at either..times are tough haha. that's why were going with metricon too, just for the extra work n guarantee of work with 2 different mobs. currently at taylors hill doing a supervisors parents house, so a bit further than usual but not bad. plenty of wogs that's for sure lmao

ahhh dahlsens, awesome company. got one about 2min drive from mine. leather st. all the guys I went to tradey with were stoked wen they found out there was one in geelong haha. we usually get costas mitre 10 trusses with henley. some days I think the guys are sleeping. top chords too far down. no cut outs for porch trusses lol. then other days theyll whip out a perfect roof no dramas at all haha

now I understand how ull make your money back so quick with the gas system ;) fair drive each day!
