Here are some facts the lonny worshipers of the new Global Warming religion don't want us to know:

1. The Ice packs are shifting and growing. They like to show us all these images of ice breaking off etc, but in reality, that is proof that the ice packs are grwing. As the polar caps grow, the massive weight of the ice compresses the ice and land underneath and pushes out to its edges. As the edges become heavier and broader, they break off. So, it is growing ice packs that break off chunks of ice. Shrinking ones just melt.

2. It has been indipendantly calculated that a due to the additional emissions created to make a Toyotal Prius, the relatively short life span of the battery cells, and the issue of battery replacement and disposal, you could drive an SS Late model camira for 40 years before you catch up to the Prius' actual emmission 'footprint'.

3. Carbon offset cretits. Around 12 years ago, the Australian Government created some special tax breaks for agricultural investments, in an attempt to increase our farming outputs and reduce exporting. This also relates to forestry and logging. So, if you were to invest $100k into a tree plantation, it is a 100% tax deduction, as are all related expenses such as insurance, interest on related loans etc. Additionally, these plantations generally yield between 8-40% from 8-25 years, and investors get extra payments from the Government for carbon offsets. So here's a mob like Qantas who is collecting millions in carbon offset payments from their customers, who think their being nice for the enviroment. Qantas then invests this in a plantation and lodges a huge tax claim, and get most of the investment back in tax, plus they'll get carbon credit payments. In anywhere from 10-25 years, Qantas then gets a huge return on the investment, all for something they (due to the tax benefits) have made a profit on paying the investment in the firstplace. Also, because it is ongoing, they can do it every year. After the first ten years they'll receive millions of dollars of dividends every year. This is just a very small aspect of money making off the back of 'Global Warming', so tell me it isn't all about the likes of Al Gore making masses of money.

Been saying this for a while, you'll find there are very few geologists who buy into the whole anthopogenic climate change model that is being bandied about. The model that is most commonly quoted is computer based and DOES NOT use data for the last 8 years, why? Because the last 8 years shows a stable climate, indeed over the last 3, temperatures have fallen. So guess what? Now it's called Climate change, it's still our fault (apparently) but it's not a rise in temperature, its a change that we need to be afraid of. what a mob of toss-pots.

temperatures have ALWAYS fluctuated and they always will.

If you look at when the temperatures did increase, you can see that CO2 % in atmosphere did rise, AFTER the tempreature rose! Why? open a cold beer and a hot beer, take a sip from each over the next hour and see which goes flat first...the ammount of gas that can be disolved in a fluid is directly related to the fluids temperature! Heat the ocean and guess what? it gives off Co2.

A media story about a possible rise (or fall) in temperature of 0.5 C over 100 years is a non event. if it goes up by 10 C over 10 years, woop-de-doo! Now that's a story! I don't think it's a deliberate effort on the media's part to misslead us or participate in a global Fraud, it's just the nature of the media to inflate the story and focus on sensational claims...it sells more papers.

No scientist should ever "believe" anything...rather they test hypothesis.

This one has been proved to be flawed.

There are two kinds of people in the world:

Those who believe in climate change and those who understand it.

P.S there's actually a large subvolcanic system beneath Antarctica that is currently in an active phase, you'd think this would have more effects on the Ice sheet than atmospheric temperatures eh?

If people need something to be afraid of, they should fear how gullible people are.

My Pa tells me that no one ever went broke underestimating mankinds intelligence. In fact Pa goes on to tell me that someone went on and became rich because he invented rubber dog sh*t.

Kinda tells you something does it not?

Yep I agree global warming is all bullsht, its like how they go on about greenhouse gases, one volcano erupting puts out more green house gases in one go then we(as in humans) ever have, and they have been on the plant for years and its stil here.

All bull crap.

Interesting to note that report is published by the US govt. Of all govt's world wide, they have been arguing more strongly against inititives to reduce the effects of "global warming" because of the fear of what it will do to their economy.

So, my view is I believe little of what comes out of the US because they are the most selfish country on the planet and the largest producer of propoganda.

Not saying I agree or disagree, just I take with a grain of salt what the Yanks say.

Secondly, the planet is a farking toilet. A little house keeping wouldnt hurt.

I think your second point is 100% correct, but that is mainly pollution caused, not C02 and has nothing to do with global warming or climate change.

But as for your first point if you take the time (about 3 hours) to read the report in depth, it wasn't put togeather by the US government and 99% of the scientists are not from the US. In fact the professor Emirtus from the Australian National Universtity in Canberra is even quoted and he basically agrees it is all a crock of sh!t as well.

Get a glass of water, put some ice in it.

Only problem with that is a lot of the ice is land based or above the water line.... :burnout:

One of climate changes biggest "fans" Mr Al Gore, still flies around in a private jet, and his house had the carbon foot print of 20 houses (source: Hack on JJJ). Tell me with a straight face that he really is taking the whole thing seriously. Not to mention his appearance fees to talk about the subject.

Whilst I'm not convinced either which way, I doubt we are solely responsible for any current shifts in climate. Further more every event which they are saying is currently happening, they can pin point another time in history when such an event has happened.

As for tree planting companies, half of them don't want you to know where the trees are been planted, because they have been slack in planting them. There was recently an audit done on a few of them, and it turns out that there are millions of trees which have now been paid for, but not yet planted, with no time frame as to when they will be planted. (source: Hack on JJJ)

Tell me honestly that green is not big business, and that the people advertising been green are in fact taking their own advise. Because Al Gore sure ain't.
