A few years back I was visiting my Mum and Dad. It was a Saturday night and the old wogs were playing their weekly lotto which they'd been doing since they got to the promised land. Anyway, the old man had some system he'd been playing for years. On this particular night he decided to change one of the numbers his system told him he should play. The numbers start dropping and on the last of the main six, the number his system told him he should have played come up, and he'd changed it. :stirthepot:

Just think, I could have had a built motor ripping 500+ rwkw with a turbo400 and gear Vendors over drive along with mini-tubs and heaps of sick sub-woofers in the boot. But alas, I'm stuck with a measly 315rwkw, 245's and 1 subwoofer...

I bought my house when I was 22. Never had help from anyone. Nowadays I've got almost everything I want. Quitting smoking 12 months ago helped, but now I'm 12kgs heavier!

My goal was to have an XR6t by the time I was 26. I'm 24 and smashed that goal to pieces!

You don't need to be Tatts'ed outta here, you just need to set your goals and work hard!

Until the banks started the lending and low doc con 8 or so years ago, buying was the sensible thing to do. Now it has become unsustainable, just ask the 1000+ plus people a week being locked out of their dream and thrown into the street.

Unless you bought before the artificial, lender inspired boom, and now have sizeable equity in a desirable property or cash to buy outright, life for the average mortgage payer an escalating financial struggle. We still havn't felt the full fallout from the US subprime debacle and a lot of our banks are tied into it. I think as more and more poor buggers are forced into default prices are going to fall quite a few percent for the next 5 or so years. Cash and equity are kings in the present market, but because the banks have to do something with all the repos equity will fall as average prices do. The bankers own the earth, and history continously shows that bankers are manipulators swindlers and liars. :smilielol::smilielol:

It also comes down to a recent attitude that everyone has to go straight from their parent's house, into a mansion. Blame the banks all you want, but too many people are over capatalising and getting themselves into trouble. As I said before, there are gains to be made, you just have to be level headed, don't jump in over your head, start smaller and work up. Be careful of where you buy and you should do alright.

I'm certainly not saying property investment is the be all and end all, but we all need somwhere to live. You may as well make a gain out of it, rather than a loss.
