Yeah, I think he is, but Dag's is right. In order to get all the biz beneath the plate to make it light up, you'd have to drill away at the sill beneath the plastic bit.

Don't get too carried away, or your car will split in half.

I've seen this on a car before....

if you get a sheet of flexiglow you can plzace it under the sill panel for illumination, and actually wire it up in the kick panel.... there has to be a way without drilling into the sill....

You could easily illuminate the sill panel area. You could just pass the thin wiring underneath it, and through the carpet, as the sill panel bit goes over that all.

While being an old topic now... Castro, you are right...

You can actually run all the related wires under the plastic, without any changes to the frame...

In turn running a small flat illuminating tube...

(I haven't checked if there is enough of a gap between the bottom of the door and the sil once all wired up...)

If there is about a 3-5mm gap then you should be fine... I think the tubing can be purchased from an electrical supply store... (Basically like a flat fiber optical cable)...

Hope this helps...

Sorry.. didnt notice the age of the thread, was searching for something else... was distracted by what an awesome idea it is...

they actually had flat illuminated sheets advertisd in hot4s ages ago... would fit better than the tubing... anyway... sorry 4 the bump

Could try this place for the led strips- LED_SHOP.

I have bought from them a few times with no problems and delivery is free.

Pricing is US$ and shop is in Hong Kong I think?
