Child Murderer: What are you in jail for mate?

Normal Person: Well I did have a nice family and a great job now I got no wife and no job and im a part of the criminal world because I 'lost traction' one day. *sigh*

I agree with vec on that one.

I liked this bit too

) willingly participate in any group activity involving the operation of one or more vehicles contrary to subsection (1), or

(f) organise, promote or urge any person to participate in, or view, any group activity involving the operation of one or more vehicles contrary to subsection (1), or

Hoon is such a grey area, if a little old lady spins the wheels trying to get up the churches slippery driveway on Sunday will she be done for hooning?

Better still, will she if I bitch about it to a nearby member of the Fuzz?

I agree in the exact same way the fuehrer encouraged widespread hate from baseless inuendo, mere speculation and rumor. The same will occur here against those entrusted to apply the new legislation, without any true objectivity.

Great example, but I doubt NSW law applies in Melbourne.

Dont the cops seize weapons used to attack ppl or stolen things to show to the court what you did and you cant do anything about that until it goes to court. So whats the damn diffrence? Your cars a bit more important?

I.B.

Well yes .... that's exactly the point, cars are a bit more important, I can live without a car for a month but what about people that don't have any other way of getting to and from work????

Plus I would wonder how much of a chance you would have in court if all it takes is belief to impound a car, that's probably all it takes for the court to find you guilty under the new law.

It's allready happening. My daughters boyfriend had his and his mates VL's imponded for alledged street racing together on the same night at Wetherill Park in Sydney. It took him about 2 months to get it back after charges were dropped. The police had no video evidence. This could be the only way of fighting them, no video, dropped charge.

Why not? As it only takes suspicion to search a person carrying drugs or a gun and the court accepts that.

It also only requires belief to give some out for running red lights, failing to indicate, not give way, not stop at stop line, speeding, use fog lights, mobile phone, etc

All of these onging arguments are based on irrational paranoia and fear at these new laws, without them yet being applied and explained. Ask questions that ppl on here can answer instead of these one sided arguments.

So I.B. if a police car pulled you over and said mate we have a report of bionic xr6 turbo draging, so we are impounding you car.

You would be fine with that, because its the LAW (or will be)

And what if the judge turns around and said based on the police officers state ment I find you guilty and will be impounding your car for 3 months and fining you $30,000.

But hey once again that's the law so once again you will be fine with it.

The majority of us would not with good conciouss criticise harsh or onerous penalties for rape, home invasion or car jackings, but we become, and me included, frustrated with firm laws relating to ilegal car usage? Is it because our cars are so central to our egos or is it merely public outrage at laws that will impede our individual freedoms? I dont really know.

And the cars Neo, long story.
