ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 20y 9m 8d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 03/04/08 03:53 AM Share Posted 03/04/08 03:53 AM I would bet it is either the overheating fuel pump or the Throttle position sensor (TPS) is upset or stuffed.Remove the leads formt he battery for a few mins and flash the highbeam to make sure there is no residual voltage. Then reconnect the battery and crank the car over with your foot flat to the floor in neutral. the car will not start, but it will reset the TPS and might solve the problem. If it is a fuel pump, it will happen on long trips or when you thrash it. Pulling over and leaving the car for a few mins turned off will allow it to cool down and get you on your way, to ford to have it replaced. There seem to be a few BF2's that are having this problem

I'm glad to know there is some sympathetic owners out there.I have call Ford up today and they will be picking up the car tonight (via tow truck) and bringing to the factory to look over…. I spoke to the dealer principal & says that they have never heard of this problem happening. So fingers crossed that my beast comes back better than ever (maybe they can chuck some 20's on to compensate for the pain and suffering)

Rhonel Member 30 Member For: 16y 10m 20d Posted 03/04/08 07:27 AM Author Share Posted 03/04/08 07:27 AM Well Dirty32, I guess u have never bought a new car?A XR6T starts at $42k not including any on road costsI then added as many extras as I possibly could afford-Metallic paintLeather interior, they mixed a colour to match the paint Neo and embroidery different from standard and choice of stitching colour over $3k option (custom form the factory) premium audioPaint protectionTintFloor mats (XR)Spare Alloy 18" striping packSide air bagsReverse sensorsThey were asking me to fork over $57k but I got them down to $52k and I had to wait over one month for it to get built. So to answer your question yesWhen putting insurance for the car its $57k to replace. This is why my fist post is so ridiculous!!!! Rhonel Member 30 Member For: 16y 10m 20d Posted 03/04/08 09:32 AM Author Share Posted 03/04/08 09:32 AM I guess everyone’s got there own opion but for me I don’t have $57k to though away so im going to do the most I can to protect my pride & joy. To put it in prospective this car to me is like a rich / well off person buying a high end sports car e.g.- Porsche / Ferrari, I would imagine that if you had a car like that you would spare no expense. So to cut a long story short my XR6T is my Porsche / Ferrari & it will probably be the most expensive car ill ever own unless I win the lotto or get a fat pay rise.
