no the 60mm was the old compwheel, the 66 was from the t04z... the new is perhaps gonna be even less and looks like simon thinks low 300rwkw if that's the case...

well if they dont change the turbine, then its relatively cheap and simple to change the compwheel... I guess we just have to wait and see unless somone with inside knowledge come on and gives us the spec...

might have to stick with the BF I think...

hanra, thinking of selling the ute, transferring go fast bits to new sedan, carry on as before, just this crappy new turbo in the FG has got me spooked...

mate if you are keen to push more power, and are going to the extent of transferring everything over and starting agin in another car - why not just get a bigger turbo? How about a Turbonetics GT-K 850? Good response and massive power - up to 850 engine horsepower!

that's the point, you have to spend the extra dollars on a new turbo... adds thousands to the cost of modding the xr6t beyond low 300rwkw...

straight from simons mouth, he expects the new FG to be alot more costly to modify to the high 300rwkw level... damn shame really.

guys, I think we need to just chill out and wait until specs on the turbo are released. then we can all go and sort out what we are gonna do from there

does it really surprise any one that ford are making the new car harder to mod? its basically a plan to cut down on warranty rorts IMO

well maybe that's part of it... but in stock trim, the new smaller turbo will be alot better, lower boost threshold, faster spool etc which is probably the main reason for doing it.

a smaller turbo just wont be as good for modding (which were not supposed to do) :innocent:

I just think the bf are sorted reliable and easy to extract power from. The fg intercooler piping looks like radiator hose. It is that small. I read somewhere that ford claim the new engine on the turbos are getting power from boost alone. What a stupid thing to go by. That would explain the piping. Simon from nizpro said on the 1000 hp xrt engine the turbo was removed in the initial part of development to find out what the engine alone was doing. Quite a different approach to the good old fraud engineers.
