groper Member 611 Member For: 17y 10m 28d Posted 31/03/08 02:15 AM Share Posted 31/03/08 02:15 AM ok so im sitting on the fence here wondering if we should buy an FG falcon or one of the last BF`s... reason I cant make up mind is coz I dont know the size of the new turbo in the FG, although the general consensus suggests that it will be smaller.anyone have any info on this, like the frame size, turbine and comp wheel size, A/R ratio`s etc???all I have read is that the new car runs 10psi of boost pressure instead of 6psi, and they can let it spike upto 11psi for a few seconds when overtaking etc. and this has yielded 270kw. didnt the current F6 make the same power on 8psi???with the current turbo, once modded, the turbo limits the power to high 300rwkws on pump fuel, low 400rwkws on race fuel. The FG with its new turbo, depending on its spec, in all likelyhood might max out at low 300rwkws... therefore to ahieve the power we currently can, it may have to cost a whole new turbocharger more...if they have kept the GT35 frame size and housing A/R`s, then its just a matter of changing the wheels which shouldnt cost that much. If they have changed the housing and not the wheels which is my best bet, same again. but if they have changed both, then you might aswell just buy a new turbo... ouch. groper Member 611 Member For: 17y 10m 28d Posted 31/03/08 02:21 AM Author Share Posted 31/03/08 02:21 AM oh and another thing, with a smaller turbo, tuners are REALLY going to struggle to control boost when tuning... its hard enough as it is, hence the wastegate mod we currently do... imagine what it would be like with a smaller A/R or smaller turbo altogeather! almost impossible id say once the exhaust and intake restrictions are removed... boost straight upto 30psi seeeeyaaaa...
