groper Member 611 Member For: 18y 10d Posted 31/03/08 02:25 AM Share Posted 31/03/08 02:25 AM mine doesnt make a sound above 2000rpm... all I get is some gear hash under load at low rpm below 1800-2000rpm... id say you have a problem and should get it looked at by another dealer... Ours was never noisey so maybe we were lucky there.

Drain the oil and fill it with 4800ml of transmax Z. Catch the oil and note how much came out. If its not full enough it will rattle like hell. Apparently it's an additive and is not factory recommended. All of them make a little noise at low revs, but there's definately as issue with yours. I would take it back in and be firm with them. Tell em you don't want the car back until they have fixed the problem, and if they don't fix it, ask to speak to someone else, and if they can't help you, ask who else you can speak to. If you don't give up, they'll have no choice but to spend some time dropping the box and investigating it, not just trying to 'insulate the gearstick' and muffle the sound. What a fukin idiot. Not an additive. They cannot void the waranty if you are using oil that complies with there specs. The insulator is a facoty fitted item. I would be draining the oil and refilling with 4800mls of Transmax or in my prefernce Royal Purple Syncromax. Syncromax WILL NOT making the box quieter than stock but it will improve shifting by about 6000%. cheersLuke

Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 31/03/08 05:58 AM Share Posted 31/03/08 05:58 AM Tranzmax Z although compatible with Dextron, will void your warranty with Ford. One is red and one is green so unless you are able to completely remove one or the other, Ford will be able to tell.I have had my box replaced as have many others here with no avail. The T56 has no factory insulation around the stick like the 5 speed did and even if it did, would make no difference. Does the gearbox operate normally or is there any other faults, jumping out of gear? Mate, you are quite welcome to come have a listen to mine and I can explain it better to you. Pm me for my details, I am in Campbellfield.
