yeah, they are pretty impressive. dont think that oil temp / pressure is a feature, but boost and water temp is. So one of those + the factory oil pressure gauge might work pretty well.....

Yes but it has a sensor, it's not fed information from the computer.

I don't know enough about it to make any statements, all I was trying to say was that I noticed a huge difference from the stock FPV VDO gauges compared to my new ozegauge stepper motor gauges.

I can tell you that the OzEgauges ones are ok, but not excellent. If you want quality, you need to look at Apexi EL2, HKS or VDO.

The stock FPV gauges are great quality, they just suck because of the small sweep and lack of meaningful measurmements.

Electronic are always the best choice. Getting the cheaper stepper motor gauges are fine for our needs.

Gday Lads,

I am after some input about gauges for the F6.

As we all know, the stock parts arent much good, and I am looking to replace them with something better. Ideally, I want to keep the standard FPV binnacle rather than go with a Tripod.

So the question is which gauges.....

Boost + Oil pressure

Boost + Oil temperature

Boost + Water temperature

Looks like the best bet is electronic gauges, in size 52mm / 2 1/16".

Looks like Autometer Cobalt are popular, and have also seen some Defi gauges too.

Appreciate your input guys!

Cheers

Rob

Seeing as you put your car on the track like me Id get water temp, oil temp and oil pressure. If you loose boost you will feel it. But if you loose oil pressure or temps increase you could damage your engine, that will hurt. I use the gauges as a tool, they are not there for _ank factor.

Dont hold me to this, but I was pretty sure that mechanical oil pressure gauges are illegal for street vehicles anyway? Reason being If the line breaks hot oil can pour inside the cabin and well...we all know what 200 degrees of hot oil can do if it comes in contact with you...

I have had plenty of cars with mechanical oil pressure gauges, and only one let go in the cabin! My old mini blew the line and made a hell of a mess, lucky it had no carpet!

Doesnt the FPV pod require a 58mm gauge? I put the gauges I have purchased from Ozegauge up into the FPV pod and the pod is too big

mechanical more accurate, as electrical gets made inaccurate, by amount of resistance in cable as it gets older, as well as the cable getting hotter near hot things or when its getting older.

ive got the autometer nexus in my f6 and id say electrical is the better way 2 go. my boost/vac gauge is awesome, its so qwik.as soon as I touch the go pedal it moves as soon as I let off it backs off.way better then mechanical.and urve got no chance of boost leaks like in mechanical.

Hmm.....interesting. I thought that 52mm was the right size! better start looking for 58mms then - can anyone else confirm this?
