Mine sits about 180f or 88C cruising and rises to 190f when pushing it.

I have seen mine at 110 degrees on the street. That was after several hard highish speed acceleration runs though. Driving normally on the street with the odd squirt here and there I usually see it sit between 95 and 100 degrees.

Definitely, especially when racing , can the temp get really high on the street?

Probably not but it will increase as water temp increases. They are directly proportional.

My oil temp takes about 20 minutes to get to normal operating temp.

Water is there much faster.

I have seen mine peak at 110 but usually sits around the 80-90c mark.

I agree with adam, I also notice with mine, when the water temp reaches just over 1/4 the oil can still be at around 50c... if I give my car a boot full at this point oil pressure goes very high.... this could be additional stress on components... myself, id rather wait until my oil temp had risen OR pressure had come down while at cruising speeds before I give it some

All in all I find both oil gauges as useful as the other

cheers

Cameron

that's a good point actually, but I'm guessing with a bit of practice if you only have the oil pressure gauge, you will know roughly how long it takes before your oil is at a good enough temperature - based on how high the oil pressure goes?

dunno :P
