Also, modding it could take a while, to give the tuners time to crack the new model. Its cool to be the first guy on the block with a new car! Check insurance too, the difference between the two could be a bit.Hope this helps. Id personally be leaning towards the FPV. Benny Member 1,869 Member For: 21y 9m 25d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 28/03/08 09:58 PM Author Share Posted 28/03/08 09:58 PM Thanks for the feed back guys, appreciated.I'm not concerned too much with the FG being the mark 1. My BA was a mark 1 and it wasn't a bad car, even with the brake shudder which was easily fixed with DBA rotors etc.I understand it's going to take a little while for the tune houses to get the new FG sorted out but I think the engine and running gear is essentially the same as BF. The BA when first released was completely unknown territory but I think we know alot more about the FG to speed up the modding development. The turbo is a little smaller but I'm aiming for around 350rwkw so hopefully this would still be acheiveable. Not sure about this though. The other thing is I know how good the BFII Typhoon can look but unsure of how a G6ET will look with big wheels and lowered. I guess I really need to wait till I can walk around and sit my bum in one.Well thanks again for the advise and keep it coming Benny. Of course if you are the type of person that wants to mod the car straight away / highly mod the car then I would lean towards the FPV.Confused???I amRegardsTUFXRT6 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43968-advice/page/2/#findComment-651733 Share on other sites

I had a good look under the bonnet of one and with the amount of quality tuners around at the moment I can't see it taking them very long at all to crack the FG.If it was me I would get the Phoon and here's why:1) It's and FPV! And unfourtunity (I don't car what anyone says) the differentation between the XR's and FPV's in the FG's is not much at all when you get rid of the raccon eyes, it's very dissapointing.2) BF Phoons look downright agressive off the factory floor, lowered and with some nice 20's and they look awsome, on the FG I doubt it.3) The mods are tried and tested and there is minimal chances of things going wrong with the BF.4) The interior of the Phoon although dated is alot better then the tacky material on the FG XR.5) Considering how many FG XR Turbos will flood the market I still think the last of the "Typhoons" with hold there value better then an XR6 T.Just my Opinion. You get all the new gadgets, the interior looks fantastic and also DSC is nice little feature for the average person... That's a little while to wait and I'll probably have very few BF phoons to choose from if that's the way I go but really don't wanna buy the BF and wish I'd bought the G6ET.Also going to talk to an engineer friend that works at Fords proving ground and see if the G6ET can have an LSD optioned.
