Typical yanks still going down the bigger is better path

I should also mention, the 'yanks' (just the people in the Northern US? It's like calling all Australians Queenslanders ;) ) are using the 4.6L in their Mustangs and full size cars, but on the flip-side, you guys are using the 5.4L Truck motor for everything. Only the Shelby GT500's and the old GT used that engine. Looks like bigger is working for you guys too. I'm not looking to become public enemy #1 here, but I felt that finger should be pointed back. Remember, a 4.0L I6 is a f*cking huge straight six turbo. I personally don't think it's a bad thing. :idunno:

I don't think he's complaining about the power hikes, I think he's trying to say that if you bought a 307, then halfway through a model run the power goes up, you'd be left with a car identical but worth less money

Bingo.

I'm all for more power, I just think HSV get carried away.

At the expensive of the previous models resale value, and that models owners!

Who here felt sorry for VT HSV owners when the VTII got the GenIII across the range??

I know I did LOL

Not to the extent that a power hike within the same bodyshape does...

You'll probably be spewing for instance when the VEII SS' end up getting the 307kw LS2s :innocent:

Was there a model change between the Boss 290 and the Boss 302? The cars look identical on the outside, other than a striping package and a bigger bulge in the hood. I don't know, up until now I always thought the Falcon got a new update every time you turned around. I remember reading about all these people selling off their XR6T's when the newfangled Auto came out. You guys were raving about it. Did that kill the resale of autos from the year before?

I never said Ford didn't do the same thing, don't misconstrue what I said as a one-eyed Ford fans attack on GM.

It was merely a comment that HSV tend to do it ALOT!

Am I accidentally posting on the LSx forums or something?? :pirate2:

If LS2 is out of production then SS will be getting the LS3 as well soon.

the hsv range was ls2 the new ve ss comes with a L76 has better flowed heads then the ls2 they also used the L98 but was changed to L76.

they r a powerful engine even the ls1 slap a twin turbo kit off shelf fuel pump injectors onto it n u will punch 300+rwkw with no internal mods bar valve springs.

So it looks like we AGAIN we will be behind in the KW race, just by 2 farking kw..

On another note ford have done pretty well to get similar power out of a smaller NA V8

2kw on paper but it'll feel like 40kW on the road. The new FG GT will still get hammered by the Clubbies.

Ford should've dumped the V8 and spent 10 the money saved making the turbo 6's sound better and made the f6 320kW, 600Nm.
