I think the non HSV cars run a LS74 truck motor. Same 6lt displacement, but different to the LS2.

I wonder why HSV do not offer the displacement on demand like they will on the export models......

Once again I have to point that a turbocharged 4l 6 is not 4 liters capacity anymore ;)

If you take a 4l, and boost 14.5psi boost, you have the equivalent of 8L naturally aspirated engine.

Take the 6.2L V8, boost it to 14psi, and you will need more than a supercharged 6 to keep up.

Just sayin.

I think the non HSV models run the L76 engine don't they? My mate has a VZ SS and when he got his head/cam package it made huge power compared to a VZ R8 with the same package because apparently they have bigger valves and some other minor difference :tonguepoke:

Its only a holden

Another old saying - a good engine doesn't really care which badge it's displaying on it's tappet covers.

Depends on what you do to it, that will determine which one is the best.

Don't get me wrong, I am a Ford boy through and through - but I know many a good chevy V8 engine, same with Ford.

It ultimately depends on who has the most money to spend - nothing more, nothing less.

So it looks like we AGAIN we will be behind in the KW race, just by 2 farking kw..

On another note ford have done pretty well to get similar power out of a smaller NA V8

I remember when they VR or VS Clubsport had 185kw....

at 5litres though.

The real early VP's had 165i

Now that's powerful lol

From the VN SS commodore, which only came out in 2 colours.
