Amazing how things change over years.

Instead of blocking of the hose at the back of the crossover like some ppl have done here, I did it the other way round by blocking off the Vaccum hose off the Crossover and connecting My BOV to the hose behind the engine bay where ppl are now blocking off.

With my setup I have the Exhaust port of the BOV facing upwards towards the bonnet with a Mini Pod Filter (25mm) attached to it and the Boost Port from the BOV attached to the hose at the back of the crossover.

A lot of ppl have done this mod over the years and I also happen to be one of them thanks to Rob (UNV3ME) who gave me this idea and also remembering him saying that Simon from Nizpro had said this setup is fine.

Some may say its safe and some may say its not but according to me, shes all good.

For some of you guys that have not heard my setup, well click below to hear it and let me know wat ya think.....

Talk to Adam about dose pipes, he made one that puts ANY vl to shame!

I also tried this setup a long time ago which sounded awesome just like a VL, if not better. But with the pod filter running direct of the turbo with a 90 degrees bent aluminium pipe in the enigne bay (see pic below) it resulted in power loss as it was sucking in alot of hot air hence why it didnt last.

Keep in mind, this mod can be done with some sort of shield that stops the hot air reaching to the pod filter but even with that, I still noticed you had to sacrifice some power for sounds.

Like Fordboy said, try asking Adam (FATSEX) or even Rob (UNV3ME) as they also have this setup or something similar with the ultimate VL tutututututututtu sounds.

Finally got around to doing this. Was a bit of a bitch putting it back on and having the crossover slide/sit onto the plenum thing properly. Sounds awesome though.

But weird thing, from outside, I now hear a loud clicking/injector type noise. Sometimes goes away after warming up but still, any ideas? Not sure if I the sound was there before venting the BOV :stupid:

I did this BOV venting mod today and I'll give my thoughts. Keep in mind I've got an Auto.

This is a pretty sweet mod IMO. Was easy enough to do, you really only need a rubber stopper and 1 hose clamp to hold the filter on.

The sounds is a pssscchht that is only really audible from inside the cabin and isn't overly loud . I had to turn the radio off to hear it but you can definetely hear it if your listening for it. Had a mate stand on the road while I drove past and let it blow but he said he could barely hear the psschht over the sound of the turbo spooling and the turbo flutter.

The only time you'll her this mod with an auto is when your hard on the throttle and then you take your foot of quickly. If your driving normally (not going over 3k rpm and driving slowly) you wont hear it at all.

Also if your parked and you rev the engine you wont hear it either.

I like this mod because you can show off (that's what this is all about :P ) to people in your car though the noise is only noticeable when your listening for it so it's not going to annoy the sht out of you.

And because you cant hear it from the outside your not going to piss any one off with your car sneazing and your not gonna get any attention from po po.

Speaking of po po, if they do notice you making it go off and pull you over, and ask you to rev your engine it's not going to be easy to hear and if you get the black monza mini filter like I did it blends in very well and you can't spot it unless you know the exact spot to look for.

Great mod if you want the sound to show off but don't want it to get annoying.

Nothing personal but I think the guide in the first post could be a bit better, theres quite a few dark spots that I had to figure out my self. Something good to include would be an underneath shot of the middle plastic thingy showing which hose to block, just a confidence thing.

Also a tip on how to deal with those metal clips that are already on there. Was 10 mins before I decided to use some vice grips on them.

Maybe also a warning of the little black screw thingys holding the middle plastic down, I snapped the one that's on top of the engine block trying to get the plastic thingy out of the throttle body >_< nothing dramatic but a warning would be nice.

Thanks for the guide guys (Y)

If you watch my video, you can hear the PSSSH when the camera is behind the car, but then as the car is aproaching the camera you can here the flutter. If you want to hear the PPSSHH from everywhere you need to increase the size of the outlet.
