I have vented the stock bov. car is stock and auto, only time I hear a pssshhh sound is when I hit boost then back off throttle. which is good. I do notice while at idle I feel air escaping out of the filter I attached to bov...do these stock bov leak abit at idle?

Doesn't sound like it, can you post up a pick?

This mod has almost become obsolete now that you can buy the knockoff turbosmart kompacts for $60.

Where from?

Is there any impact on performance (either positive or negative) when venting to atmo?

I would have thought that returning the air back into the manifold during a gear change, will help to build boost quicker in the next gear?

By the way I just did this on my FG F6, and the best way to get "tututu" is to drill a 10mm hole into the rubber stopper which is to be attached to factory BOV.

Do we have an emoticon that represents "tututu"? :spoton:

// Jake.

Have you tried blocking it fully? Use to think that too mate, have done both on mine but I swear it runs way better with a full blocked bov (and is louder) then with the hole drilled in it. Have no idea why but that's just my experience. Someone explained it in this thread I think.

Not really any positive in performance for an auto but atmo bovs are designed to keep boost up during gear changes on a manual cars so if there was to be any benefit it would be in that scenario.

Haven't tried to have it fully blocked. I might try that tommorow.

I don't understand how venting to atmo would help to keep boost up, I thought that it would actually release boost, whereas venting into the manifold would "recycle" air and hence keep boost up ???
