Hmmm ive only got 17's though

The factory 325mm setup clears the factory 17" rims with it seems, half a mm of clearance.

Also, IMHO Chinese sourced and or eBay sourced components do not belong on a high performance braking system. Not in these cars.

You can improve the performance of your braking system by resorting to the use of direct replacement, better designed (discs, pads, fluid and lines) incorporating higher grade materials.

This is a more expensive, though more elegant, and possibly safer solution than simply bolting on potentially illegal and mostly bling value components. IMHO.

The next step if you are so disposed, is to implement a proven brake upgrade solution. There is no shortage of simply brilliant factory and non factory solutions for these cars. They are not cheap. You will however, I predict, not regret the expenditure of a single penny on brakes. (Though I may be wrong about this.)

Regards,

aa

Ok Ive gone off these cheap upgrades and found some DBA4000 slotted discs on ebay still but looks like I can pick it up. Is $352 for just fronts a good price? The reason I just dont call a shop is I dont have time or patience to do the calling round during work hours

That's a bit pricey. I ordered mine from SuperCreep Auto for $260 each (DBA42104SL/SR) plus $6 shipping coming direct from DBA. Spoke with Race Brakes Sydney too and they weren't too far off that price, $268 each I think (one side will be more expensive than the other..dunny why).

Just going back to that link, the last I heard braided brake lines weren't street legal. Also the brackets that he is supplying don't look overly strong.

The ebay sale says for 2 discs. So its $352 for the pair. Seems like a good price if you paid $520

I am led to beleave that you do need 18" wheels to fit the 330 in, I am actually the highest current bidder atm on this item, main reason why I went for this is becasue I just took the car in for a fairly big service with all fluid (brake, engine, gearbox, diff and such like) changed. I was informed that I have servear stress fractures (was a good friend who serviced the car so I do trust what he tells me). So still with lots of bill and such like in this day and age and only being an apprentice (2nd year at that) There is not to much money in the bank to change over the disks, I could have used standard from ford I know but seeing there has already been stress on the old brakes an upgrade would be smart. If I do go through with this item I will wright back on this item, hopeing that all the attention drawen to it doesnt make it cost anymore. haha

The only thing I dont know about it yet is if I will need spacers because I dont have factory rims

Cheers Allan

Well the package has arrived and it looks very neat! Bracket for the calipers look solid as and well made. I'll fit and take pics once the QFM pads arrive.
