Guest Spinifex Guests Posted 24/11/08 08:50 AM Share Posted 24/11/08 08:50 AM People ask me: whats it like on juice??I say great! If you just get in and drive, 100 -120 kph.. 110 is good.. My Phoon will reward me with no worse than 10 per 100 average. Reset it and sit on 100-110 and it goes down into the 8`s.But.. If I get happy with the loud pedal? I can watch the needle just plummet.I say to folk: if you wanna big fire, you gonna use a lotta wood, eh.We didn`t buy these cars just to nip down the shops now, did we? This is just normal driving nothing major. At that rate I think I will get around 412 – 450k’s, toughly. Would you say this is ok? I would think this is ok if you were doing a bit of booting around. Which this wasn’t at the time!!Also as a side note, what do other peoples XR’s idle at, mine is around 900rpm give your take a little!!DJ
Guest Guests Posted 05/12/08 07:16 AM Share Posted 05/12/08 07:16 AM Fuel consumption & idle sound about right for a stocker mate My trip computer is at 13.8L per 100km at the moment but I'm constantly sticking the boot in with 400+rwkw. When I cruise on the freeway @ 110km/hr with AC on, the instantaneous fuel consumption reads between 7.8L & 8.2L per 100km. Crazy for such high power imo

He reckons he can get me 280rwkw with low 12's so I'm excited But right now...uuuuurgh.....A dog....I'll let you know what happens...Dan

Is there a recommended way of running a new FG XR6T in? Or do you just go as hard/soft as you like?2. What is the recommended fuel and is there any types to avoid? There's plenty of threads with differing opinions on running in your engine. As for fuel, it comes down to personal preference and what's available. Being a bit more sedate these days. Running prem 95 & 98 also...Now looking at an oil change this wkend to rid the metals filings that could cause some scouring or damage within the lightning bores of power...Ubeautee! Done 600K's and I fully expect to see mid to high 9's for freeway and about low 14's for fairly heavy traffic.
dj_82 Member 11 Member For: 16y 2m 30d Posted 11/12/08 01:24 AM Share Posted 11/12/08 01:24 AM I have a BF XR6T Ute Auto and when it was stock it usually runs about 16.3L/100km -City 12.0L/100km Freeway (with Hardtop and tools in the ute). Ever since I've got my SS growler and intercooler it dropped to average of 14.7L/100km - City 11.2 Freeway. Now I have my exhaust, wastage and injectors changed, I'm only running 13.6L/100km - City and 9.2L/100km - Freeway. I don't drive it hard, only when I need to... but then it drinks 3 times more fuel than stock It maybe the fact that I am really, really tiered but I would have thought 13.6L/100KM is better than 16.3L/100KM for city driving?? That to me is more economical than when stock?? Correct me if I am being stupid here!!
