Say your car consumed 2litres/100 km less and you drove it for say 10, 000km/year ...the saving amounts to $300/year total - equivalent to one to two beers a week!...wow..what's all the fuss about? Now tell me you are that strict with all of your budget. You could probably save that amount and more by merely shopping around for better/cheaper insurance, cutting out two or three beers a week....one less extra trip a week in the car.If you are going to get serious then get serious!!Dingah←are you mad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!just cut down on food/magazine/water/o2 intake, never ze bier !!!!btu seriously does sound like this car is chewing more than it should..my phoon says about 14-15 on the computer and gets around 425kms average per 60L tank.. Posted 25/08/06 05:11 AM Share Posted 25/08/06 05:11 AM There is only one way to do a proper fuel consumption test.Fill the tank up to the first click of the trigger reset the speedo trip meter not the trip computor drive the car until ready to fill again go to same bowser and fill until first click again.now subtract the litres used from the k's done this will give you the right figure. The trip computor is only a giude and a dollar figure is not the right way to check either.Ian

And I'll usually average it over 3 tanks, to allow for the variance in my driving. When doing that, I usually average 13L/100km. I've been tame lately, and my computer reads 12.9L/100... it took almost 3 months to get it down from 14L though. As goldie said, the only way to do it properly is as he mentioned! All city driving, and in a manual that sucks for economy.

I found the T to be slightly more economical than the N/A on the highway, about the same around town when driven easily and the T uses more around town when being flogged.
