reset your meter and try again, try to drive the car for a bit longer let your engine warm up and settle down. 16/100km is way toomuch! after you experiment all the advice you gathered here and its still 16 then I suggest you take it to ford for check ups.

Oh and if you do take it to ford they will tell you its normal, but actually its not so you gotta fight for it.

Good luck..

16/100? :sleepystuff:

When I had my T, it rarely broke 10/100 and I've got a really heavy foot. Even my F6 sits at 14.8 with SWMBO driving and normally 15.1-3 with me driving.

I tend to agree with M6 XR6T . It cannot hurt to check the things he mentioned.

Also, is 95 even premium? I honestly do not know as I've never put anything less in the T or the F6 than 98. =)

that seems about the same as what I get.im sitting on 16.1 at the moment. Its the stop/starting that chews alot of petrol.A mate I work with has a XR6T aswell and he averages around 13lt/100kmh but does most of his driving on motorway and open roads..When I went to Nowra for a wedding I averaged just under 10lt/100kmh..

So you were getting 650-680kms per tank in your T

Tell me you were doing all highway cruising for figures like that

I've averaged 12.9 l / 100kms for the last 40 000 kms. I regularly check actual litres and actual kms to check if the trip computer is accurate and it often reads about 5% high.

The worst I ever got was about 16 - 17 l/100 when I first got it and would take everyone who was remotely interested (or not) on joyrides which was all foot to the floor stuff.

I easily get 10l/100kms on a country trip at 110 - 120 km/hr cruise and I still have my fun when overtaking.

Based on how you describe your car being driven, I reckon it should be getting about 14 litres / 100kms.

Have you reset the fuel consumption meter since you've had it?

If not, the 16l/100km could be the average over many thousands of kays and it would take a heap more driving with lower consumption to reduce it.

I agree that you should reset it and also calculate the consumption yourself.

If the car is used mostly for short trips then that certainly isn't going to help consumption. I've had my '03 T since new and it has averaged 13.5l/100km since new and that includes sitting in some fairly heavy traffic.
