Guest Maniac Guests Posted 27/09/04 10:51 PM Share Posted 27/09/04 10:51 PM (edited) Hi all,I'm really starting to get annoyed with the amount of petrol my car is drinking. I have been doing highway driving and all I get is 300km out of a tank. A mixed traffic/highway driving with an occational squirt will get me 230km MAX out of a FULL TANK!Is there anything I should check or use to try and fix this problem?I fill up using Optimax mostly, but BP Ultimate every so often. I don't understand.Any help would be appreciated.Cheers,George Edited 27/09/04 10:51 PM by Maniac

What does you instantaneous fuel consumption read when cruising at 100km/h?Just for reference, I managed a highway stretch last week where I averaged 9.65l/100kms. Around town in heavy traffic I rarely see anything above 15l/100km. Get it checked as assuming you are not extremely excessive on the accelerator, something is NQR. (3 Tanks per week)avg fuel is approx 12.6 around town and 10 odd on the hwy.BTW I always use Optimax and find that it does not give me any extra kays out of a tank than any other fuel. I also have to travel up a mountain everyday which would use up a little more fuel, but Maniac you have a problem and would get it checked out cause that's pretty bad economy.Dazza. Guest Maniac Guests Posted 28/09/04 02:03 AM Share Posted 28/09/04 02:03 AM I am absolutely freaked out.I remember when I first purchased it, on a thrashing it would go on like 12.0L per 100km...maybe 13.0L per 100km.Now, If I hit it hard, it will go on 21L per 100km....otherwise it will stick on 19.0 / 20.0L.Have you guys ever used fuel additives? Eg: Nulan total fuel system cleaner or Octane Boost Pro ?I haven't though I have had friends who have used these products in their JAP cars and they get better economy and more power.Whats the feedback - how does our T's handle with these products?
