Hi Guys, new to the forum so forgive the failure to read ever post before this. Have a Built Dec 12 FG XR6, after market turbo, exhaust done, bigger injectors etc. Was going a dream but all of a sudden it has lost its guts. Won't rev past 4K rpm, stays in gear and won't up or down shift and the same issue in manual shift. Returned to factory settings with the flas drive and then reinstalled the dyne tune - nothing, disconnected battery to rest computer, nothing. Frustrated doesn't come close and the fuel usage has doubled. Any ideas as losing patience fast!

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, and then take it for a drive and do a few power runs.

ie take it to redline, making sure that the engine gets a chance to cover the full rev range.

Disconnecting the battery will erase the "learnt" ECU parameters (known as the KAM - keep alive memory) and will make the car forget it's bad habits !

A few members have reported this type of problem - some cars seem more prone to it than others...

Bit of a Big bump but was wondering if this is correct. My Wifes :) BA XRT is getting about 19/100 around town and about 12.5 on the open road

Hi guys just so I don't have to read 50 pages and summarize them 

 

Is our 12.5 highway 19 in the city (city av speed 27kph so slow stuff) ok for a BA/T (4 speed Auto and best I know stock) moderate driving but enjoying the occasional shove of grunt (the thing spools up so quick its hard not too)

 

I ran 98 for the highway but have been using 91 around town (manual says I can)

 

I am going to put 98 or 95 back in next fill and see if it is more cost effective, car has had new plugs recently and the previous owner averaged 15.9 mixed running on 95

 

I will reset as above once the 95 or 98 is running through it vains again but have you guys any other thoughts or is this all ok 

 

Thanks and BTW these Turbo things are cool (really impressive instant power) and worth the extra running cost over our old 2L run about but just thought I should get her running as efficiently as possible

those figures are fine.

 

I get 20-22L/100kms in the city lol

Well at least I know there is nothing wrong with it but was hoping for some magic elixir of fuel saving as some of the guys seem to get crazy low readings, man how are they driving their 3- 400 hp weapons ?  Time for mods, would run with that though as found someone in NZ offering another 55hp (40kw) for a plug in $1200, as if I really need it, but if it would improve mpg that would be all the excuse needed

I can get really good economy if I'm chilling on the highway or if I keep the revs below 2000 (hard to do). car put out 360kw on a dyno last year.

 

I just kinda enjoy standing at the bowser filling my car up cause of all the fun I had.

 

our resident hoon, @-Stever- came up with a brilliant mathematical formula - fuel goes in, fun comes out.

 

I don't know about that power gain, you might want bigger injectors to keep things safe :)

Mark that 19L/100 is terrible. 

I average 14.2 around town on 98. 

And that's sh*t also. 

Run 98 and reset the computer and see how you go. 

I reckon you may have a bad o2 sensor. 

$1200 is a fair whack for so little power gain u less it improved economy.
