I've rolled about 3500kms now and average 15.8......I try to keep it down but then I just keep planting my foot sometimes and f*ck it up haha waiting for a big highway drive so I can maybe get it back down to 15 or less or I could just reset it but doesnt bother me. car was meant for fun not trying to see how low I can get my L/km

just a quick question. will gettin a tune and new injectors give more power and bring down the fuel consumption if you drive normal? that's what I have heard anyways

A tune can reduce your fuel consumption in general as the cars run rich from factory and the tuner can lean it out. However, if you use WOT, you will use more fuel than you currently do due to the extra power (which requires more fuel).

Exactly what I have found since my tune. Much better economy day to day, bonus of extra power when needed or want to play. Best thing with these, especially a tuned FG, is having all the torque available very early on means you can get off the line smartly without really needing to use much throttle. Even with a little spirited driving I am more than happy with my fuel usage.

My tuned VZ LS1 with usual supporting mods and 250rwkw, same type of trips(mostly short), similar amount of kms/year, similar amount of spirited driving(probably a bit less than the G6E as the turbo is more addictive) was getting usually around 15-17l/100km. The G6ET gets 12-14l/100km and is pretty easy to get, don't need to really try, had to really baby the VZ to get anywhere near 13-14.

Even if I was getting 15+ I'd be still be happy, especially considering pretty much all my driving is short trips.

For the power these things deliver the fuel ecomony is awesome.

Hey guys, I did a run of about 100kms today with all trip computer reset to see my fuel consumption. 80% freeway - 20% stop start and I returned a 9.5 litres per 100km. on the free way I was on 8.1l per 100 average. To be honest I was babying it but still good results for a car that has only done 800km's.

Excellent results for a large family car - good driving too!

Well it is true what has been said somewhere on this thread. turning off esc reduces your consumption even more. I was doing 8.0l/100km at 120km/h today on the freeway for a minute to see what I would get. I am pretty sure that it was like 10l/100km previously.

hey everyone, now have a 09 fgxr turbo ute find the fuel consumption excellent for what our beasts are.on 15psi tune on a 90 km highway trip can go as low as 9.2/per 100k then not resetting the trip com all week around town it goes up to 12to 12.6 l/per /100kms max and that's with some hard drivin . got a 03 ba xrt sedan and stock uses about 13 to 14.5l/per 100kms. on 17psi the fg starts to get thirsty though.

hey . my fg xrt ute has custom tune only 15psi and a 17psi , nothing else done, goning to fit bigger injectors and fuel pump

so what can I expect consumption to be like once pummp and injectors fitted. what psi actuator people running wit 15 to 17psi.lost fair amount of power on dyno tune cause didnt fit bigger actuator . still made 292.5 rwkw on 17psi wit boost dropin to 13psi at high revs made awsome torque 840nm.many more mods to come
