BA XR6T, Manual, K&N, 17.1l/100km, not a lot of highway work in it. My other car is a 2.8t Patrol though so this does get a bit of a squirt, even from the Minister for War and Finance, she secretly enjoys the power.

Recently went on a holiday in a bog stock FG Xr6T ute..

But I was curious.. So I know this is a hard test because I couldn't relly do it over identical stretches of road but I was comparing with cruise set at 105km/h in 6th (where possible) the difference between traction control being on and off.. The roads seemed fairly even as far as undulating terrains go..

Traction on: 9.4L/100km over 300km with a 97km/h average speed

Traction off: 8.5L/100km over 300km with a 95km/h average speed

The results were fairly different so I'm wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this?

I was just curious because a mate of mine went through a set of brake pads on the rear of his VE SS in 12,000km's and they blamed the DSC..

That's interesting although I don't see how it would make a difference. I know mine can use less going to a place than coming back because of going up hill more.

hi mate, I think you might have the same problem as I had. im also drive my xr6t mainly around city no highway.

I just drive normally, no heavy foot. but my computer reading is 18.6L/100km.

I dont know whats wrong. and last time I dropped it for service, I was told something wrong with my gearbox .....

they told me something like the last gear cant lock up or what, anyway I dont know much about gear box.

anyway, I think I might have a gearbox check sometime.

it shouldnt drink so much fuel ...

Economy (cost based) calculated vs using 98RON 1.50/l on LPG 0.58/l with 290rwkw

Highway

4.3l/100km

City/Short stop/start trips

7l/100km

Poor saps driving expensive and slow Corollas etc. haha

2011 fgt ute, only has 180 on the clock but around my little town doing 26l/100km. Looking for a marked improvement on run in. On its longest trip (140kms) and dead flat it was 11.5 l/100km.
