my bf xr6 turbo got 600km on the way back from mackay, and I was overtaking a fair amount of holiday people.

I thought that wasnt too bad, but around town will be a differnt story as im a lead foot.

Been giving mine a hard time running it in and can't believe it's averaging only 12.7l per 100k  at 2000kms. Easily 1/3 of that has been mountain driving. Could be a lot worse.

Hey guys I heard from a few different mechanics about this , till the first complimentary service the car is running leaner due to engine run in , I was told to just drive normally and not fang it till after this period (correct me if im wrong anyone).

I only ever use premium in my cars the trade off with price is equaled with less fuel consumption with normal unleaded.and I find BP ultimate is the best , and if you are near a shell with the optimax racing stick some in and be surprised how much different performance is ! awesome! :stirthepot:

Nope, they're speaking poo.

The run-in tune is the same part number as the police chaser tune.

I did say correct me ! one question though , do they (ford) limit anything on the car because I did notice a difference after the first service ? it seemed as though it had more top end !

Neighbour bought a suburu a few months back and they told him at the first service they would change the engine mapping and will go a bit harder. At the start they just want it to run gentle. Could be a load of sh*te but who knows?
