I was running at 14.8L on my custom (and crappy) 12psi custom tune...

I thought that was terrible so I flashed it back to stock, and reset the counter...Now it's as 16L!!!

I only get 387 from a tank...

And I drive like a geriatric...With the occasional boot lol.

My (new) tuner said that's crap. He reckons he can get me 280rwkw with low 12's so I'm excited :spoton:

But right now...uuuuurgh.....A dog....I'll let you know what happens...

Dan

If you don't mind me asking, I noticed that you are located in Perth (like me). I was curious as to who your new tuner is??

We have had our car for around 2 weeks now. 05 BA T series II with 4 speed auto, 40,000 on the clock.

We have been pretty sedate with it and get around 450 k's before the light pop's on and the range is under 80 k's. I go to fill it up and it take 52 litres to fill (still have 16 litres and only 80 k's on the range/dte), that's strange because my previous AU2 XR6 and AU 2 Forte the range/DTE seemed to be pretty accurate and I would be up around 530 before the light came on and the DTE was around 80 - 100.

trip computer reads around 12 litres to a 100.

I used cruise most of the way set at 105 and 115km/h as the boy in blue were out in force.Today with a trip to the city and a full tank with around trip of 140km the avg was 10lts the car now has 1800km on it

would these improved consumption figures be due to the smaller turbo in the FG XR6T over the BA/BF? I understand the FG F6 still runs the same turbo from BA/BF era.

My guess would be that the better efficiency would be more due to the better designed cylinder head and port configuration. This allows more efficient fuel/air mixture burn. Also probably more time spent to design better engine mapping.

Just did a trip of about 3000k's and was surprised how much the air temp changed the fuel economy.

Towing a dual axle stock trailer fuel usage was in the 17l/100k's with air temp up to about low 20c.

As temp rose up to 35c fuel economy blew out to 22l/100k's

Oh I'm liking this. I must admit I was worried about the fuel consumption but some of you guys are getting good results and they are barely ran in.

AWESOME! Bring on the morning of the 10th when I take delivery of the EGO 6 speed 'manual' XR6T!!! :w00t:

Only done 1800km's now but my last tank was 13.7 L/100 on Caltex 98.

Probably about 70% city driving.

I guess it goes without saying that it all comes down to the way you drive it. I reckon even at this early stage of the motors life I could get high 12's around town with a bit of conservative driving.
