l can only compare going from a T to a GT. The T was averageing 13-13.5't/100 and the GT 13.5-14 so not much in it. If you were driving hard the 6 may drink more but l dont think fuel consumption should be used to sway your decision either way, there isn't much in it.

Mandy was averaging 14.6 per 100K when I 1st got her, damn thirsty......lol. Calmed down a little now, 13.4 - 13.5 is the average.

Yeah, I'd say not much in it at all. XR8 owners I know, they average about the same.

I dont know if I should mention this here, but after installing the CAPA Edit on my SSS Sedan, fuel (premium) dropped from 15.5 down to around 13.3 and that's giving her the odd squirt too...not hard but not easy on her either.....

How much difference do you think there would be in fuel consumption on these 3 cars.

Toyota Hilux 2x4 2.7L

AU 4.0L

BA 4.0L

I need to get a ute for work and don't want to spend more than $20,000. I was just going to get a Hilux but the prices are still fairly high on a 2nd one ($15-18 for a good one). For under $20,000 you can get a really good AU XLS or maybe a XR6 for that or a base BA. These are obviously a better car to drive and have a great interior but the engine is twice as big. I just want to drive to work and back and put a bike in the back occasionally. Hilux's hold there value really well too where Falcons are not so good at that. I suppose that when you buy one under $20,000 it is the other person who lost the most so it isn't that bad I guess.

Which would you all get? (Please no anti hilux posts. They are good cars for what they are) Thanks!

the price of diesel nowdays pretty much out-rules the hilux.. not to mention their the most gutless piece of sh*t ive ever driven.

au 4L, well I guess the only answer is if u can afford a BA then get the BA as their pretty good on fuel when u dont lean on the right pedal hard often.
