Fuel Consumption (merged topic)

gotta T ute, filled it up twice so far and have got over 400 k's from each tank. Mainly do city driving with some rather spirited sprints.

I have had my car for six months now, it is standard (except for recent CAI) and has returned 450km per tank in either city traffic, or longer trips (with a lot of hills). The difference in consumption between giving it a push is minimal - so of course - why not have fun?

The fuel consumption seems to be at the worst with stop start stuff. Fast accelerating and high speeds seems to drink, but not at the rate of lots of stop-go stuff.

An 8 too, my av. is stuck on 17.2 to 17.4, I get about 430 from 72 lt, cant get any more than that innit, even though they say it's 82 lt's, and that's from walking experiance.

Also doesn't matter if I nail it all day or drive like a wuss on cruise, might change 20k's a tank, that's all.

*beep*, my 200kw AU could get 720!!! a tank.

Its funny, you would expect the NA to get about 13 flat doing allot of highway stuff (where you get 9l/100) but we only return about 13.8 - 14 in the ghia... Though, I guess it does weigh a bit more...

You would still expect it to return better figures than that...

Yeah, it's sad the lack of fuel economy in the BA range compared to the "old" AU. My T3 returns over 700km on a tank in country cruising - and I don't mean loafing around either. Really hard driving around the local town area gets down to 450km.

PS Same size tank as the BA.

I reckon the economy is o/k. Big cars, lots of power.

Just did Darwin & Back, averaged 105 k's per hour over 5750 k's and averaged 13.1 l per 100 k's Around town about 18. Here to Brissy about 11.

I get about 12l/100km for my T but whenever the fuel gets a bit to expensive.. or a bit tight in the back pocket.. I just hope into the missus's focus and I can go for almost 2 weeks without filling up

I dont know what is wrong with your cars dudes but I average around 13l/100 around town and down to 9s on the highway. Im getting about 420 to 450 on a tank in town.

340km Per Tank?? Around Down?? I wish I got it that good! I get 250km per tank around town in my xr6t, and that is in standard trim. If I drive it like miss daisy, I may be able to stech it to 340km, but I doubt it

Excellent! Another proper driver. It appears we are a rare breed here.

I get 210-230km per tank of premium around town. My guage hits the half way mark at around 100-110km. My 80km to go warning sound hits when Im a few mm about 1/4 tank.

I get worried when people tell me that they get 350+km per tank, and in the same sentence try to say they drive hard around town....it doesnt add up!

And this is my second T too so its not a car problem...both were 23.5-24.5km/100km according to the readout.

But there is an upside - if I cruise on the freeway economically (rare...but occasionally!) I get in the order of 7-7.5L/100km at 110kmh.

Now that's a flexible car. Not many sports cars can perform well but when you drive lightly use as little fuel as a toy car.
