hey guys the day I picked my car up it had 45,000k's on it and we did a trip to sydney from mackay, fuel consuption was good and now most of the driving is around town.

specs

highway: 6.8-7.5 (6.8 was on free way and it fluctuated between the two)

town : 12.0 - 18.0

on the trip I got about 650k's to just over half a tank then hit towns and it dropped drematically

On a recent trip to Bunbury I checked the fuel usage, the car had 3000K on it.

The majority of the road is dual carriageway and as flat as (most boring road you will ever drive), 100kph section on cruise was 7.6, 110kph was about 8.5 and when I was up in the hills it was around 12. This was behaving myself as my conscience was in the car with me.

Around town it is generally 12-14

Mine has 5k on the clock now, has had 2 oil changes. I posted when I first got it, first tank of fuel and I got 10.8. I now get 10.5, it drops to 10.4 if I drive more than 10 mins on cruise control. Its pretty steady. I ran the bitch in good, these figures are from enjoying the car and not worrying about fuel. I have about 25% tread on all for tires, as I have rotated twice now and fuel is still great.

Averaged 10.17 L/100 km when I lived in the country, and I wasn't being shy about using the accelerator to get to the speed limit or for overtaking, mostly driving at 105-115 kph, and that is the average for an 8 month period and about 21,500km. Per tank average was between 9.1 and 11.3

Since moving to the city I get 12.7 L/100 km, mostly daily commute in stop start traffic, and that's over about 2.5 months and 2,900km, and again, I'm not being shy with the accelerator to reach the speed limit. Per tank average varies a fair bit though, per tank goes between 11.8 and 13.6.

I have a fuel use app on my iPhone so figures are pretty accurate.

Oh yeah, I always run it on ultimate 98 and it's a manual :)

My FG XR6T Manual Ute, gets an average of 550-600km around the suburbs/town, etc. On the freeway it's between 650-700km roughly and that's giving it a bit of a stomp whenever I feel the need. :roflmbo:

I dunno if it changes anything but I only use Shell Optimax, nothing else. :spit:

I had the same problem I was averaging 20.4L/100 I changed the sensor on the back of the motor and now its averaging 10.8 but when I picked my car up 2 days after the copas finished with it it was reading 45.8/100 and when I filled up it only gave me 129 k's of fuel LOL

I have 03 BA xr6t manual sedan & running 43Lb injectors & walbro in-tank & fuel avg say's 4.6 but I have just used 5/8 of a tank & got 300Km's so far, it's all stock apart from inj's & pump, but when I filled it up it said I only had 30Km's to empty but only took 55Litres & I tried to squeeze as much as I could in.

Will be interesting to see what I get out of it, as I know the stft's & ltft's are spot on!
