I have been offered a 5 speed manual box out of a twin turbo Supra with all accessories to suit a Cleveland. This is the first time that |I have ever heard of this conversion. Has anyone here had any experience with this conversion or know of anyone who has one? I am at ends as to which way to go... either this conversion or a T56 (Expensive Daewoo V8 T56) conversion. Whatever is chosen has to handle a minium of 550 flywheel Hp. An auto is not an option as I want the car to be streetable. The car is going into is an Xf Fairmont Ghia runnig a 9' with 4.11 gearsd. Any help greatly appreciated...

If you are referring to the R154 its a pretty strong box, I know of a few that have been pushing over 500rwhp in various cars for a while and plenty of things have broken and the gearbox is still working.

If its a W58 it won't last long with that kind of torque behind it.

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

Had a 5 speed supra behind a 250efi in my XF, it was a good gearbox, better than anything ford was using at the time.

if it a conversion kit from Dellow it should handle 300rwKw. Best to speak to Mal Wood as he is a fountain of info on gearboxes.
