It is with great regret that HPF announces the passing of long time customer and friend Lyle Lemon. Lyle died of a suspected heart failure in Brisbane on 22nd March, 2008.

Lyle became a close friend to all at HPF during the building and competing of his two vehicles, known as TTLS1 and MRPSI. MRPSI is a VU Late model camira Ute built to be the most powerful of its kind and had just begun its campaign with 1,730 rear wheel horsepower and a 2nd place at this years Summernats Horsepower Hero‘s competition. TTLS1 is a VX Late model camira sedan which competed at Summernats 20 where it won the Exhibition class on the dyno with 980rwhp. The car then went to the track and has been under development and running mid 9 second quarter mile passes with the ultimate plan being to run 8 seconds still running IRS rear suspension.

Lyle had earned much admiration from the HPF team and the car community in general with the way he set a goal and then built the vehicle necessary to achieve it. Typically quiet and with little visible emotion, it wasn’t until Lyle was behind the wheel of one of his cars that his passion for modified cars became apparent. The ear to ear grin on his face was the ultimate reward for the team that put the car together.

It was always a pleasure to do work for Lyle and even though he commissioned us to do a job, he was always extremely thankful, giving the feeling that our work was truly appreciated. Lyle’s family were always involved in his activities and after seeing them together at events there really was no doubt how much they meant to him.

Lyle will be deeply missed by all at HPF both as a customer and a friend.

that's a shame guys - condolences to his family and RIP Lyle

I don't think it is a good time to ask, but has the family decided what to do with the cars? It would be a shame to see them sold off

As Deano said too young by far. Commiserations to his family at his untimely passing.

Regardless of your allegiances it is always sad to see the loss of a devoted enthusiast and family man.

RIP Lyle

Please don't flame me for saying so, but I did not know Lyle from a bar of soap, so I apologise if it's out of place for me offering my condolences.

It is such a shame to see an (obviously) much loved person pass from this life and leave his family behind.

So young to have such an illness take his life away, so unfortunate for the family to be left behind without.

Lyle, I did not know you, and yet somehow know you well enough to know it was not your time. Rest in peace brother, your memory will live on.

And to the family, our sincerest condolences. If there is anything this community can do to help, I am sure we are all more than willing to lend a hand.

Condolences to his Family and friends, It is a sad day when one of the community passes (Expensive Daewoo or Ford) He was a passionate car enthusiast and a dedicated car modder.

I rember viewing MRPSI with admiration, such an ambitious car. Which ultimately delivered!

Way too young.
