MrBean Member 400 Member For: 18y 6m 6d Location: Melbourne Posted 31/03/08 09:05 AM Share Posted 31/03/08 09:05 AM @ Bluuoa: Great launch, luv it, and very, very respectable times.Glad you're retiring from dragracing, as it's really not good on your car.You do the diff, the sideshafts go - next, you get beefy ones, and the prop-shaft will go, or gearbox, eventually you'll end up shearing the bolts on the flexplate/flywheel to cranckshaft. It's never-ending, and in reality, you guys are making so much HP, good enough to run high 9's, low 10's, consistently, but for the launch. To do that HP justice, we need to launch 6k rpm, get the fronts off the ground, and unfortunately you will end up having a car that will go quick down the 1/4 er, and be crap to drive.Huge, strong drivetrain components, silly gearbox mods, and big, street-undriveable stallie, to name a few.I know many guys will disagree, reality is if we can launch like we are supposed to, with 400rwks, you should be in the 9's.So, enjoy your car on the street, it is a great time you hav, but you'll end up breaking things - especially having it weigh in at 1700+ kg's.Been there, done that, not with a Falcon though, but 750HP twin-turbo Ford Sierra V8 back in the Republic, and already then I wound up 35-spline sideshafts on 29x10" slicks trying to lift the front 3 inches clear of the tarmac, all on a car that weighed in at 1240kgs.so yes, you have been an inspiration, but short of getting a moser or similar center, much beefed up box, etc, it's a waste of good money.Enjoy your car, mate!Br,MrBean
