nice I asked brad about the fixed cam gears his response was

"Vernier adjustable sprockets #306560 are not a necessity with Stage 4+ cams, but as they are way more accurate than the constantly advancing and retarding factory sprockets you get a better tune and better results out of your camshafts."

so I went with the vernier gears also my tuner basically said the same thing and gave me examples of people running the vct still with stage 4 plus cams but both were auto's

I don't want to blow my mainly stock engine. The only thing done to it is valve springs.

But I'd love a set of cams on it. Love the sound lol. But yeah, I mostly shift at 5 but go to 5.5 if I'm racing. Is that weird?

If u can get the VCT to work with 4+ cams u get the best of both worlds

But its in the bigger hp set ups u opt for fixed gears above 700kw area

hmmm I was under the impression the higher lift of the 4+'s could result in piston to valve love making if vct is operating ?

I made the same assumption with the extra lift of the 4+ and 5 that VCT would be out of the question as well as atomics site stating ( not Computer controlled )

Fine line between pleasure and pain maybe ?

Id say u disconect the top plugs and install the fix gears to the "dots" on the phasors and then dial the cams in and lock them down tight ( adjustable sprockets )

Im running stage 4+ in a built motor (all atomic except the pistons) couldnt be happier, very responsive through the mid range and awesome fun to drive.

making 550rwhp on pump at 20psi through a billet z-p turbo. holds 550rwhp for the whole dyno run.

also very lumpy - solid sounding
