When I asked what the PP actually included (Expecting the car to go to a professional spray booth to have a special coat of clear etc) I read between the lines that the PP stuff is basically sprayed out of a bottle, by hand, then rubbed over the car and buffed off. So I said a big NO THANKS, drove to Supercrap and bought a 3 step paint protection kit made by mothers (But others will do) for $60 and alocated a Saturday to put it all on, saving me $$$$'s of dollars. This PP offered buy car companies would have to be the scam of the century! I then politely told her that I polish my car every month and will look after my paint my own way. apparently polishing your car takes a layer of paint off each time the car is polished according to her, that was quite funny to me.Ha, the amount of times I've heard that one...if that was the case and considering Ford's sh*t paint job out of the factory, all of our cars would not have any paint left on them..... BAXR6T Member 187 Member For: 22y 7m 26d Location: Melbourne Posted 05/05/08 07:10 AM Share Posted 05/05/08 07:10 AM Hi Again,I'm now getting the calls from the dealership wanting me to add the Protection pack. I politely said NO as I did when I bought the car. The car is not due to be built for another few weeks (I HOPE IT'S NOT DELAYED BEING A TURBO) and they keep ringing me. This is my issue....I want my windows tinted and I want the fabric protected so I rang Tint - A - Car. They have a deal going on at the moment until the end of the month for Tint, vinyl & fabric protection for $500. The tint is called Midnight Express and is the darkest legal metalized tint on all windows except the rear of course for the radio. I don't know much about the cloth or vinyl protection though. It's probably a can of scotch guard sprayed on who knows. The tint on it's own is $295, $100 dollars off. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Anyone had it done or is there a better place to go in Melbourne? Any special deals etc etc.Cheers,Greg Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43841-fccking-paint-protection/page/4/#findComment-671088 Share on other sites
