MrBean Member 400 Member For: 18y 7m 2d Location: Melbourne Posted 21/03/08 11:02 PM Share Posted 21/03/08 11:02 PM Handling is nice and taught with none of the skip and bounce like the leaf sprung rear end of the nado, you can throw it into a corner and not worry about seeing the tail end out your side window or feeling like its about to end up on its roofYep, as I mentioned before, this is the biggest downfall of the Fraud Tornado. I hate the nervous rear on my UTE, and will most likely go IRS like Simon did - need to save a few $$'s for that though. But, ultimately, an engine never ever knows the badge on it's tappet covers, it's what you do to it that counts, and I would very easily sell this oxcart of mine (with only 5500kms on the clock) and get something taht will be a better base for handling. Then to easy to supercharge, either by way of twin turbos, or blower.Ah well, hope Ford can get it right with the suspension on these things eventually.Guess my next one will be a Expensive Daewoo just becuase of the far superior suspension setup.Nice looking though, keep us posted. MrBean Member 400 Member For: 18y 7m 2d Location: Melbourne Posted 23/03/08 12:30 AM Share Posted 23/03/08 12:30 AM @ Cobrav8: I am away on business quite a bit, so....It is a really nice vehicle for straight-line acceleration, but, as mentioned before, these UTEs are sh*tboxes in the handling department. Some guys will probably like the leaf-spring rear, but I am to used to IRS, all rwd cars were IRS equipped - except now for the Tornado. It really is a big deal to me, and such a huge disappointment Ford did not fit IRS to the new FG UTEs.Ah well, I guess we will see more and more guys going over to the dark side, once they realize it's not just about going fast when the wheels are straight, there's more to enjoying a car than just that.Ok, not everyone, but I certainly fall in that category. But, with the nice, easy and relatively cheap power the 6 offers, with the advantage of good fuel economy from a turbo setup, it will suit me better to chop the thing in half, and fit a R34 IRS to a custom subframe, aka Simon Nizpro setup. That's something I had in mind before I even had the UTE, so guess I should start getting the parts together.Soz for off-topic, Dags, don't want to steal the limelight away from your new venture But ffs, this is a Ford forum after all - rofl.
