coupeboy351 Member 55 Member For: 17y 2m 19d Posted 20/03/08 01:18 PM Share Posted 20/03/08 01:18 PM my 05 xr6t used to start like any normal car, turn the key and it would just start and purr straight away. But since I had it serviced it now starts and revs to about 2000rpm for 3 sec's then drops to about 1200rpm.It seems to be using heaps of fuel now and I'm just curious as to how others xr6t's start. To say I'm not happy with the way Range ford have treated me in the past is a understatement, they dismiss any problems I have as "that's normal" and now my RTV is playing up (I think the tps has crapped out) so now I have 2 BA's that run like sh*t.Any way if you could let me know how your cars start it gives me some more confidence that it's not right. ColinT Donating Members 372 Member For: 19y 9m 13d Posted 21/03/08 01:37 AM Share Posted 21/03/08 01:37 AM I have had exactly the same problem with my 04 T.I went to the dealer and they replaced the throttle possition sensor, all fixed. They were able to test it some how and found it faulty.Six months same thing again. This time the tested and found the same problem, very very rare they told me and too have 2 of them fault on the same car. They replaced it again and all fixed again and that was over a year ago.So I would imagine you would be under warranty so take it back and tell them it rev's its head off starting first time. Started when dead cold and revs spiked to over 2000. Turned the car off and thought WTF.... Restarted it did it again. Its only ever done this once though so I never got it checkedCant you reset the TPS by trying the start the car with wide open throttle ie foot to the floor.
