Just out of curiosity I searched for Capa on ebay.

Of course there were a few units for sale and obviously some people have no idea of the restricitions on selling them such as;

Vehicle has to be returned to factory tune,

Unit had to be reset for another VIN vehicle.

One seller said he has only used 1 tune so it still has 2 left that the purchaser can use before it needs to be reset.

Enough to put you of a second hand unit

Recieved an answer back from a seller.

He says he is keeping the go fast tune flashed to his car and selling the box as is.

Guess he thought you can just pass it from car to car for nothing.

I have advised him it can't be used by others and to do some checking himself.

I watched them on ebay for a while too.. then came to the conclusion I didnt want to get stooged, and also that I'd probably never use any tune other than the obvious one...

Other consideration is the extra cost to get custom tunes (if you were to buy a new one and plan to upgrade anything down the track), that $700 plus a retune plus the cost of whatever parts you buy, like injectors, is likely to cost more than APS phase1, for roughly the same power result...

only downside is the non-flashy part.. but as I said.. how often would you shifts between the tunes it has...?

what do they add? about 40kw (fw or rw?).. is that right?

40kw for $700 new.... or about $350 if you buy one from ebay... (plus the fee to reset it?)

compare the price to some other ways to tune your car and see what works best...
