hey straughsberry, so u say u use the sequential all the time??? I heard using it fu,cks solinoids?? have you had work done to the box? coz mine is a standard mk1 box. and if so at what revs do you change???

Box is unopened. I just got a spare so I can build it ready for a swap because it will go at some point, especially if you go on these cruises (this post is now on topic). I dont know about wrecking the solenoids. Your tune should dictate when you change. WOT runs I change @ 6000rpm.

the auto changes gears with the solenoids.. so driving it in auto or shifting manually has no effect on the solenoids.

HOWEVER, downshifting a auto car is generially not good, as the overrun clutch usually is the weakest clutch of the box (the engine braking clutch).

A 4 speed box is only as good as its tune controlling it.

These are the failures I've seen people fail.

1) 2nd and 4th gear band. Due to lack of shift preasure during 1 -> 2 shift

2) C1 clutch (3rd and 4th gear). Due to lack of shift presure during 2 -> 3rd shift

3) Plantery failure. Due to axle tramp during launches beating on the plantery's.

There were a number of cars last night I heard shift last night under power, putting it bluntly, are excessively wearing out their boxes

I have broken the plantery's in my box, I've worn out my 2nd/4th gear band (I somewhat also blame the generic tune I was running for some time). and caused excessive wear on the C1 clutch, Which is also a combination of the shaft seals being poor, and not enough shift presure.

Ohh, and too much presure, and the box totally hates it also, causing poor shifts.

Obtaining the perfect shift is a nice balance of shift timing, shift presure and torque management :>

When you two were going up Victoria Pde you both gave it a squirt. I had the camera in photo mode, not video..Grr. It looked nuts!

TUF 6 sounds mint with a tune. Was it stock last time I saw it a few months ago TUFGSR?

Edit: just checked the camera, I got the end of your little squirt lol

Thanks man

Not sure on when you last saw me. It's been modded since mid Jan and had another retune after I added the rear exhaust section and pump.

Send me the video if you can.

Christian
