Hello,

I have been out of the game for quite a while and the last car I modified (2004) was a XR6T which had the APS 2 kit and made 271rwkw.

Due to new work commitments I have just purchased a 4/2006 BF XR6T and wanted some advice to mod it slightly as it is work car. I want get around 300kw at fly wheel.

As I am not familiar with the current tunes available, this is what I think I need to do:

As it is a 4/2006 BF valve springs should be o.k for that type of power

Remove centre muffler - (Does anyone know how load the car gets and does it drone at higher speeds as I do alot of K's)

Cappa flash tune

Will the above be enough for 300 fly wheel KW?

With the new flash type tune is there any way that Ford can detect tune when it is flased back to normal when service and warrenty work gets done?

Thanks Tom

Depending on who you get to tune your car, a simple custom tune on your stock car using the capa flasher will get you well into the 250+ rwkw mark, which would be well over 330kw at the fly.

If you want to limit your power to roughly 300 kw for daily use, then just run the middle tune on your capa box, which would be for 95RON petrol for example, then if you get a craving you can load the third, or 10psi tune.

Good luck! I'm about to do this myself. Cheers!

The 8psi tune is pretty good for 300rwkw. I use it every day and just ran 13.2 at 174km/h on the weekend, so it must be close to it. The missus does not want the 10psi setting.

But ford can detect that you have flashed it back to standard
