but the NA would make that 200kw pretty high in the rev range

so they run no where near 200 off boost imo

but they cruise just fine off boost

Your only ever half a second or a tiny movement on the pedal away from being onboost anyway in these cars.

On the freeway you will hear it spool instantly if you gas it at 100kph, if your cruising around in a 60 zone and gas it, it will spool instantly, big engine = quick spool... No lag

Is there such a thing as of boost in these cars, I would suggest that anything above idle would have boost.

Yeah they do drive on boost most of the time, just may not be positive boost... soon as the throttle is opened the motor is no longer under vacume like an NA motor is.

As the needle on the boost guage is flicking up and down under 0psi its still producing boost, just not much.

pull off an intercooler hose and its NA time... they drive ok, but then a camry can chop ya, so really no good in NA.

So in regards to driving around in heavy traffic on light throttle, they feel like a good NA motor can.

You can test drive mine if you like, I don't mind letting responsible poeple drive it.

Thanks again guys. I am trying to decide on the effects of compression ratio and the different intake manifolds that speed. I wonder if the non butterfly manifolds will work well on a na car or if it will kill low down power?

leave the butterflies there unless you plan on sticking a turbo or super charger on it.

you will lose alot of torque.

By having the butterflies there you basically have two different sets of runners one short and one long. one produces more torque down low the other up high (cant remember but I think longer is better down low???)

So if you get rid of the butterflies you now have only 1 set of runners, and can no longer produce the same torque lower in the rev range.

I have an XT as well as my XR6T.. when your not trying to drive fast, just cruising around the XT is far more effortless then the XR6.. it's completely different when you prod the pedal though. If I never used more then 1/3 throttle though the XT is much better then the turbo.

With a 2500 to 2800 rpm stallie I have to wonder if it matters? the butterflies switch at 3800 rpm. If I want more performance you would think the removal should result in a better et.
