Yeah much cheaper to buy. Makes your car run cooler, parts last longer and gives you around another 30 to 40 rwks.

Disadvantage is it burns quicker ad you will have to change fuel pump and injector's to atleast 80 dekkas or 1000cc ect ect.

Oh and its apparently better for the environment if your a greeny :focus:

Yeah it's $1.299 at nicolls, finally checked out the price the other week, and it's eflex which is about ~e70-75. Be good if more caltexs sell it. I think it's such a low volume selling fuel atm that only bigger / quieter servos sell it.

As per Caltex's website they say e-flex is e-85 but I have heard that it may be actually 70-75 on the forums somewhere. I thought it was interesting reading that thread I posted about how eflex ain't much good in colder climates, hence why they say in colder climates they may change the mix in the colder months so your car will still start.

Everyone is correct lol

As per caltex website

Bio E-Flex is specially formulated to meet your flex fuel car's requirements all year round. Different seasons can change the way fuel performs in your engine, so Caltex will adjust the blend of ethanol from 70 to 85% between seasons to ensure your engine performs correctly.

So it is minimum e70 and up to e85. However e85 from united servo's is minimum 85 but has been tested by guys on here up around the 92 mark. In terms of the difference it makes to your car. At 300rwkw on 98 you're probably looking at 20-30rwkw more on e70 (eflex) or approx 30-40rwkw gain on e85. These are obviously approximations relative to you'r mods.

But as Daniel said there are more gains to be had than just the power in that so far all research is in favour of ethanol based fuel prolonging the life on the motor

It is much cheaper to run per litre but when you'r giving it a go you use a bit more fuel. All in all for every day driving it works out the same fuel consumption wise

mcinnes your car is set up well for eflex except your injectors. Your injectors will be pushing it with eflex as their maxed out at 350rwk on 98. You may however be able to got o 330-340 with them on eflex but that's something id check with Kit

As much as I want to eflex isn't suitable for me as I spend 5 months a year in Griffith and we don't have ethanol fuel and the local caltex won't let me buy it in 44 gallon drums

Yeah mate a bit hard to buy fuel there but you can run duel tunes on an x3 tuner so can run a 98 tune and an e85 as well.

If anyone is interested I got a quote back from cms in Sydney today. Told them that there are a few of us in canberra looking to mod in a couple of months. They gave me some good info as well but still had a few more questions for them that I am waiting a response on. If anyone wants to know prices private message me as you all know I won't put company's prices online for everyone to see. I will say that I am impressed so far just wish I had a bit more coin lol.

Also not sure if anyone else has seen this...but there's a BA or BF XR6 Turbo in silver with WRC decals on it. It actually looks really tough! needs to be lower in my opinion. but I likes it :D
