Just great - so I'm coming home today after registering my F6 with Queensland Transport and I stop at the shops, turn the engine off, open the drivers door and all of a sudden the ICC goes epileptic on me - thing just went spastic. The display was flashing on and off and a sound was coming from it like it was trying to load CDs. Then it stopped.

Got home ordered out and thought I'd be a naughty boy and take the F6 to go pick it up. So I go to unlock the car and nothing. It sounds like it's trying to open the door but it doesn't. :fool: So I manually open the drivers door and the smart shields not turning off. So the alarm goes off. Then the ICC goes nuts again on me, and I hear the ICC again making the same sounds like it's trying to load CDs. Ok - so I call Ford primo and RACQ turn up an hour later. The dude resets the computer, (something called a bus reset), checks all the fuses and isn't sure whats causing it. Now I have to get it towed to the dealer to troubleshoot.

I'm seriously not fr!ggen happy Jan. I bought this car because our other car (a holden...) was breaking down ALL the time, and to have this happen after I've had it for 2 weeks just makes me feel like going postal... To make things worse the family is coming down this weekend for a party and to check the new car out :censored: - GREAT it's already had a g0d damn break-down - it just makes me look like an idiot. Yeah I'll go and buy a 63K car because my other one breaks down on me and BANG - just bl00dy great... :roflmbo:

Feel like selling the lot and buying a chopper and be done with it. :gooff:

Just bad luck mate. Just tell them you expect the car back in working order as soon as is humanly possible and leave it at that...

Just bad luck. But f*ck it must piss you off something shocking!

After recovering with a good nights sleep I just feel really dissapointed more than anything.

Anyways, I think the dealer has been good so far to me so I'm just glad it's under warranty and in their hands now. I'd rather have not have the car in the driveway at all this weekend than have it half working (due to the embarrasement factor) so I'm hoping they can find something this morning.

It's a damn shame that a new car can have this happen to it after just getting it, I hope it all gets sorted for you and you can get back to enjoying the new car as it should be in the first place.....

MADF6 - it may just be a module seating problem - with contact between the points in the chip modules- I had the exact same problem with a Discovery3 last year, using FORD computer components sourced from the same place. And its not a difficult fix, they either make sure they fit properly or they put in new ones.

For the the R-Spec S**t canners out there, any of these problems can happen to any F6, T or any Ford on any production line.

As you can see these problems are not related to suspension, or wheels which is the only thing different between these cars the rest of the F6's on the road.

As to the types of problems - one seems to be a simple computer issue and mine seems to be extreme driving conditions, and heat - hardly a reason to call them all :spoton: !

It just so happens that most of the car owners here are passionate and vocal, so the problems come out on the table.

If you look at it closely, the rate of problems between any of the Turbo, or even non turbo models seems to be about the same - and less than what the Expensive Daewoo websites are reporting with the billion $VE!
