Sorry to hijack Ben and slightly OT, but still very relevant...

If anyone has some spare $$'s to throw around and is after a quick track car, there is a decent Evo 6 with a few HKS goodies on the imports101 site for $34k (probably be able to knock it down a little) that is already in the country. There is an Evo 6 Makinen edition on there too.

Better still there is a 33GTR with a fully built HKS intenalled N1 block with a T51r strapped to the side (and pretty much every supporting mod you would ever need) for around $60k lol... Also in the country.

You need to be registered to have a look at them on the site, but again if anyone is interested they are on there...

Ran a 20% mix of Toluene at Barbagello - nice. stinks though!! 5L container into the tank at the servo before adding 25L of BP98 (not quite empty) gave a theoretical 102RON, ran nicely on it..

Best lap was a 57.1 short track with a bungled last corner and fading brakes... Fairly happy with that. Playing with camber and suspension / tyre pressures next. Hope to get down to low 56's or 55's.

My last lap of the night was way too quick into the final corner (lack of stopping power), was sideways at the apex and still lapped a 57.3

Still a bit quicker than an FG A6 F6 with the big brake option combined with R-Comps :P

Brakes are off the car - doing a quick freshen up as the AP's have now bolted to $6k with the ex rate.. not the best BFYB option now....

Looking at fitting a set of R32 GTR 4 pot calipers (anyone got any lying aroud??) with some 330mm rotors.

Harnesses and pedal set are incoming from the UK, new injectors also in the mail - hope to wind some boost in over Chrissy..

Yeah it's good learing how the car behaves..

Incar; the camera fell off the back shelf at the drags and now it won't turn on, otherwise I'd have some footage.. :3gears:

Here's a couple of shots from Kwinana.

Last one with the green light is a 1.7 60' launch. Not a whole lot of squat with this suspension. It's set on 3 out of 5 for firmness there.. 5 is rock solid.

Ben, if you sign up to the Skylines Australia forum, you should be able to get hold of some brakes pretty quickly.

On the other hand, Im sure that the 32 GTR's came with only 2 pot front and 1 pot rear Sumitomo brakes.

Could be wrong, cant remember!

The V specs came with aftermarket Brembo's though...

Steve Jones - Yeah, that's the Steve jones that took out Targa. The EVO he was in has full carbon doors / bonnet / single seat - engine & turbo, suspension mods. Insanely quick around the track and a fair bit quicker than the R around Wanneroo.

He over took me up the hill, incredible corner speed. Level of grip was astonishing..

He's got a few cars ......

I've looked on SAU - there's a couple there but no-one ever gets back to you re pm's or emails.. One guy local had a set - no response.. The GTR guys upgrade to EVO Brembos due to the bigger pistons and external brake lines. They are also physically bigger and can take a 355mm rotor - hence they don't fit on mine without some involved mods.

Antilag has a couple of sets (one guy) but he's a tool, wouldn't even measure bolt hole spacings for me..

I know of the Brembos options but don't know about clearences.

I've got hold of some R33 4 pot's for the fronts. Mocked up they fit ok. I'll get away with a 3mm spacer using a GTR rotor and grinding a small amount off the lower control arm. Nice.

Update:

New Harnesses arrived :) & finally got around to fitting the HKS fuel rail (bit of stuffing around - easy in the end) with Evo 9 560cc injectors (which flow closer to 600cc) fitted in the rail.

6 point harnesses awaiting seats......

Saebelt_s.jpg

Also got some OMP pedals awaiting fitment.. On the hunt for ~330mm rotors for the brakes to make them fit.

Might head down to Kwinana this Wed in the heat to see how it goes with a bit more boost in it. Have to refit the stock brakes for now to run - time will tell..
