Sorry to hear about The crash mate. Be sure to get a doctors certificate for your whiplash and lodge it with your insurance company. I hit a lady while driving in the rain. She did a U-ti=urn in front of me on a normasl 2 way street. She got a injury payout of $6000 for the whiplash.... I hope that this will ease your pain....

Bad luck mate - I would hate that.

Have you thought of getting an F6 Replica Bumper - now would be the time!

Here is a worse story to make you feel better:

I was on the way home from work today, and there is a section of road that is two laned (passing lane) that always slows, sometimes to a crawl or stop just where it merges then goes through an intersection (no actual need or reason - just bad design and road works making it worse ahead on the road at the moment). I had caught up to the back of the queue - but stayed in the left lane rather than passing and jamming my way in the front. I could see the traffic slowing ahead, but apparently the two cars ahead of me did not. The first of the two ducked to the passing lane at the last minute - and the car on front of me slammed at about 70kph into the Suzuki 4wd stopped at the back of the queue.

The Suzuki was shunted forward into a van, then a ute and another car. Each car was progressively worse as you worked your way back to the back car which was very badly munted. You could also see how the bull bars on the Suzuki and particularly the Van caused bad damage to the other vehicles, and to their own chassis as the damage was transferred through their mounting points.

I stopped easily (who said XR brakes are no good!), and decided to go around the accident and park in front.

I checked each person as I worked my way back the queue, each one was dazed, clutching necks or shoulders in discomfort. The guy at the back was in a bad state, quite saw and panicked - but no cuts etc luckily for him. The Suzukis airbags had gone off - the driver was dazed and reasonably ok, the wife apparently had a heart condition - and wasnt in a very good state either. Their 5 yo daughter appeared ok, but very scared.

I checked everyone was reasonably ok, and called the police and ambulance. Another couple of people stopped, one put on his high-visibility apron and directed traffic, another helped the panicing woman - and then two of us looked after all the rest until the police arrived. It was nice to see people caring and doing the right thing. A couple of cars drove past and yelled abuse at the cars (I guess pissed off at being delayed) which was dissapointing.

The police just called me now, and checked the story, and thanked me for helping, and told me that three of them (guy at back, lady and child) went to the hospital - so... they got a worse day.

To be honest, it gave me a bit of a shock, not as bad as the people hit I am sure.

Cobra, that's what I thought was going to happen to me, but with me shunting the car in front and then being shunted in the rear like what happened anyway... I would have cried if I took out the front, as the F6 cooler and trans cooler have only been fitted in the last month...

Keep it all XR, good thing I haven't got around to lowering yet, as the boot would have really been rooted then.

Never mind, its in good hands now... and will come back better... Just like people when they are sick or hurt, shes going to get some presents to make her feel better, and make me feel better too :)

The guy who I came across today was crying - it was quite a sad moment really - not sure if it was the shock, pain or thought of the cost of the damage he had done (probably wasnt aware of it to be honest). All the people involved were quite shaken. I think it is pretty easy to forget how people can be affected at this time, it will change what I think whenever I see an accident to be honest.

I have been involved in an accident when I was younger, a modded 2 litre mk1 escort, beautiful car, fully restored body by my brother - and some clown didnt give way at an intersection - 50 kph each - 100kph head on accident - absolutely wrecked my car. I had a full harness seatbelt and race seat in the car - no injuries at all. The car was stuffed though. Kept all the mechanical bits and transferred into a mk2. I remember being a bit stunned to be honest. I miss that car - was really good fun doing it up, racing it, driving all over NZ. Other accidents have been minor - wheel coming off a 4wd and clobbering my wifes car I was driving - that gave me the sh*ts - saw it coming, couldnt get out of the way, but luckily only slammed along the side of the car.
