Well... last night on the way home north bound on the freeway, someone decided to mash their brakes, so I mashed mine and pulled up fine, looked in the rear view mirror and here comes an Excel locked up skidding toward me. KABOOM!

First ever accident, in 10yrs of driving, and it'd be right that it's in my brand new (to me) Turbo.

Bumper is toast, boot has a tiny mark on it and its been pushed up. Quaters are fine, maybe a very fine scratch where light popped out a bit, rear parking sensor MIA and the system constantly sounds now, tyre well buckled and bent, some other metal down there is toast too.

Back, neck and shoulders ache, doctor was useless, must have had better things to do ey?!?

Top it off, $600 at fraud over last 2 days for servicing and warranty repairs/recalls

Other car is mashed front end, wouldnt be surprised if they decide to write theres off, doesnt look to bad, but cars worth less than repairs.

Time to pop my pills again

spewin mate.. gotta be pissed off about that!

did the excel have insurance? I take it you didn't hit the car infront which is some consolation at least.. buckled tyre well you say, wonder how hard that is to fix?

hope it doesn't take too long to get back on the road anyways (april 13th latest so you can come on the cruise!)

Ouch.

Just bad luck mate. Exact same thing happened to me a few of years ago in my old Pulsar. They had my car for 9 days repairing it!

Did you tick the hire car option?

Rear support frame is toast, so I reckon they will rip that out, then rip out the boot floor and spot weld a new one in... if they try and hammer it out, I'll hammer there head in )

My insurance don't do hire cars, so if I get one, have to chase up the other insurance company for those costs. That's pretty gay!

I had the same thing happen to me in a non turbo XR6 company car.

it does not look that bad from the outside.

but as soon as you have a look underneath the car the whole boot has been scrapped.

they had to rip the whole boot up. and put a new boot in.

then new rear bar and a new boot.

make sure that when you get it back that your boot lines up with the rear bar and the rear glass

:roflmbo:

Looking at them coming for you and being trapped and unable to escape is not a pleasant feeling.

You should be right claiming back hire-car expenses, usually the other insurance company will just pay up provided you have a valid reason (I.e. no other vehicle). If they don’t you have to take them to the small claims court (or whatever it’s called in your state), but there is the chance you may be left out of pocket.

Hopefully they get it sorted out for you sooner rather than later dude. :omg:

Just dropped it at the panel shop, and yeh, the boot lid has to be unbolted from the inside to take it off, the left crumple zone is crumpled and will get straightened out, the boot floor will be out and fixed up, new rear bar, fit the boot marks, re-align everything.

He's done paint on the car before, when I bought it, and knows if its not done right, it wont leave his shop till it is :) But there good workers, and produce good results.

Just waiting for insurance to say yay or nay... but its going to be a long job :(
