of course you can just do a tune, if you change one thing in these cars ie boost, everything else has to be changed to make it safe - timing, injector duty cycle etc

Drop your local sponsor a PM and they will be able to help you out no-probs!

yes, its definately worthwhile even with no other mods.......the tunes from the factory are all over the place. Mine was running fairly low boost and also leaning out in the higher rev range, stock!

I picked up 40rwkw tune only and still with some headroom for the factory injectors. Beyond this, as Senna said you open a can of worms where each modification leads to another to make the previous safe.

A custom tune on a completely stock motor should get you a gain of between 40 and 50 rwkw on the 98RON tune.

Some have 210rwkw stock, some have 230rwkw stock. When you tune them, they usually equal out to around 250 - 260rwkw on standard injectors. If you replace the injectors and tune it, you should expect around 290rwkw, and then sometimes at this power level you might need to start thinking about your driveline components. Hyponodoc you wanna tell us what can wear at these levels?

just got mine tuned last week. 240rwkw from an otherwise stock car. About 40rwkw more the car got.

What you don't hear much is that the car performs 100% better other then just power levels. Idle, fuel economey, and general driveability.

Worth the money I say

Whats the average price of a custom tune?

And I've heard the BA 4 Speed Auto's crap out around 250rwkw's? Or am I hearing story's?

Average price I would guess around $600-$700

The autos all differ, depends on the tuner, how you treat it, servicing it and if you got a dodgy one.. I know of a Orange T running 320+rwkw on a stock 4 spd.. Not even a trans cooler with no problems... Then you read about someone with 250rwkw and the auto lets go..

would you say tuning work involved is greater for an off its nut car compared to a stock one? or is each tune from mild to insane equally as labour intensive?
