Which dealer?

I know that the one in Phillip takes kindly to been told "get the deal right and I'll sign on the dotted line today" We got a :pooh: load of freebe's thrown in as a result when we brought the missus's 3.

I found the same thing with the guy at Phillip. I found when I put the hard word on the salesman for some extras on a 2 for my old girl, and made it clear I would decide on the spot he sat up, listened and delivered. Of course we still went through the whole, "I'll just check with the boss" routine, but they came good. The other thing I found was while he didn't discount much, he did overstate the value on the trade-in by a few thousand. Swings and roundabouts.

Yeah, they did that with my trade in, gave above what Red Book said I'd get for a private sale, let alone to a car dealer...

scribr - the internal jabs that we get isn't "funny money" when it comes to us trying to give you the best deal. Cars do cost us a certain amount, and there is only so far you can go - it is businessyou know!

Oh, and if you want to see mark-up, go and take a look at what a pair of shoes costs! My GF works for Athletes Foot, and I get wholesale price less 40% - that means $250 shoes for $80 - and they call us rip off merchants!
