thanx cj that would be much appreciated if he can get them in ill rush down and get 1 . DID ur bonnet have probs closing i really have to slam mine for it to close .i havent looked at it to see if there is a problem with the lock , maybe it needs a bit of adjusting

Ive noticed with the design of most new cars including holdens.. you need to drop the bonnet at around 15cm for it to close.. closing it softly and then clicking it to lock just doesnt work anymore.. You will end up bending your bonnet if you try to do it that way.. (happened to my cousins car) just drop it from about half way.. closes it perfect everytime.

Our dealer didnt bother pointing out much to us when we picked our car up, but he did show us how to close the bonnet.

They have had a few bonnets damaged by people trying to gently closing them by pushing them down and denting it. Very difficult to fix because its double skinned and access is near impossible he reckons.

Simply swing it down firmly maybe 20cm from latching. Seems to work OK.

actually the point of the thread is that you can damage your bonnet by closing it with your hands TURBOXR. there is the possibility of dinting the bonnet, which cant be repaired via PDR, as there is double lining - reinforcement ribs in this area.

I noticed my bonnet latch was pulling downward too tightly when closed, causing a shallow palm sized distortion on the bonnet skin, this was easily solved by undoing the bonnet latch assembly and elongating the 2 mounting holes to give me a few millimeters to move the latch up.

I was relieved to see this cured it, as initially I thought some mechanic or something had forced the bonnet shut dinting it.

John at PDR Tech said it would be almost impossible to remove in this location if it were an actual dint.

So the official word is to let your bonnet drop from around 20cm and it should shut without needing any force.

Yes monty im aware of the point.

Im having a laugh.

If people are so technically minded that they need to look on the internet to see how to close the bonnet without denting it.... I suggest they just keep it closed.

I prefer to close mine with a sledge hammer anyway....
